About this house sitting position in Tamborine Mountain

I’m heading overseas from 18 December to 27 February and am looking for a mature, responsible individual or couple to care for my home and my two 6-year-old cats, Lilo and Stitch, in North Tamborine.

About the cats:
Lilo and Stitch have very different but equally endearing personalities. Lilo is a gentle, sweet-natured tortoiseshell who can be a little shy initially but becomes very affectionate once she feels comfortable. Stitch is a confident, sociable cat who is full of character. He loves attention, food and being involved in whatever is happening.

Stitch is an early riser and may give you a friendly reminder when it is time for breakfast! If you prefer not to be woken early, he can comfortably be settled in the front section of the house overnight, where he will have access to everything he needs. All cat food, litter and other essential supplies will be provided.

About the home:
My home is a charming, single-level cottage on a quiet and friendly street in Tamborine Mountain. It is well suited to an extended stay, with two spare bedrooms and three separate living and dining spaces: a sitting room, dining room and cosy fire room. There is also a covered front porch, rear patio, BBQ, air-con, high-speed internet and Netflix. All normal household bills will be covered during the stay.

The property has a pretty cottage-style rose garden and other established plants. Irrigation systems will be set up before I leave, so no extensive gardening is required, and my gardener will mow the lawns every two to three weeks. The sitter will simply need to check and top up the irrigation water supply and water several indoor and patio plants once a week.

The house operates on rainwater and a septic-tank systems. Both are easy to manage; I just ask that sitters are mindful of water use and what is put down the drains. A comprehensive guide to running the house and caring for Lilo and Stitch will be provided.

The cottage is conveniently located only a few minutes’ walk from an Irish pub & restaurant, with other excellent cafés and restaurants just around the corner. The local IGA is approximately five minutes’ walk, and several beautiful rainforest walking trails are also within walking distance.

The peaceful neighbourhood is mainly home to retirees, so the sitter would be best suited to a quiet, responsible single person or couple with experience caring for multiple cats.
