We’re looking for a reliable, caring, and experienced house sitter to care for our home and beloved pets over the holiday period.
🏡 About the Property:
Our beautiful 3-bedroom home (plus office) sits on 3 peaceful acres in a semi-rural community—just 1 hour south of Brisbane and east of the Gold Coast.
• Gorgeous gardens and daily visits from kangaroos and wallabies
• Large saltwater pool with cabana & huge undercover entertaining area with 6-burner BBQ
• Freshwater dam and ample storage (including boat shed and double garage)
• Air conditioning in the master and living areas, fans in other rooms, and a cozy slow combustion wood fire with plenty of chopped firewood
• Open-plan kitchen with dishwasher, French-door fridge/freezer, filtered water/ice, and a well-stocked pantry
• Fast NBN, Netflix, and a 75” TV with recliners in the media room
• Huge bathtub with luxury rain shower in the main bathroom
• Room to park a caravan if needed
💧 Off-grid comforts:
• 22,000L + 13,000L filtered rainwater tanks
• Easy-to-manage septic system
🐾 About the Animals:
We have a mix of indoor and outdoor animals who will need love and care while we’re away:
Cats
• 6 rescue cats (ages 2–10), all vaccinated, desexed, wormed, and healthy
• Mostly indoor-only; two older cats, Chipps and Archie, enjoy some outdoor time
• Chipps requires a daily medication mixed into food – easy to manage
• Purpose-built outdoor catio accessible via the main bedroom
Chickens
• 37 hens + 3 friendly roosters who lay lots of eggs
• Need daily fresh water, let out in the morning to free range, and locked up around 6pm (they put themselves to bed!)
• Poultry experience highly regarded, though not essential if you’re confident with daily routines
🌿 What We’re Looking For:
- Someone/somebodies who are responsible, tidy, and respectful with genuine love for animals.
- Experience with multiple pets (especially cats and poultry) is preferred.
- Happy to chat with singles, couples or family’s with children over 10 years old.
