About this house sitting position in The Basin

This is a spacious modern home in a private tranquil setting with a deck that overlooks a creek lined with tree ferns. It is a quiet area with lots of lovely walks - 15 minutes walk to The Basin shops and surrounded by State Forest. Lots of birdlife including tame king parrots and rosellas who come and feed out of your hand or from the feeders I have set up hanging around the deck. I used to host an AirBnB and got very good reviews about the house and the beautiful outlook and how clean it is.

I am primarily looking for a mature female, possibly someone semi-retired or retired to look after my very friendly Border Collie Jasper. Jasper is 9 years old although people ask me how old is my puppy as he is quite a small border collie. He is very intelligent and loves having a ball thrown to him and he spends quite a bit of time rounding up his balls around the house (next best thing to sheep I guess :-).

I am preferably looking for a mature female as I have a couple of females boarding in the house but they are not around much. The house is quite spacious and most of the time I am on my own, or it feels like I am on my own, as when either one is home, they are largely spending their time in their rooms.

Alex is 30 and she works full time and is out most evenings and stays with friends over the weekend so I hardly see her and when she is home she only heats up a frozen meal in the microwave. Lyndel is in her early 50's and works as a PCA in an aged care facility most days. She also doesn't really cook so you won't really see them much in the kitchen. Lyndel would be a back up for you if you ever went out and weren't around to feed Jasper however she is unable to walk him as she has a sore knee which is why I have advertised to get a house/dog sitter.

There is really not much housework to do as both my boarders are extremely clean and tidy. If anything Jasper leaves a bit of fur around so the occasional vacuum would be great but I am more concerned about making sure Jasper is looked after.

I work full time but work 3 days from home so Jasper has my company on those days and I pretty much take him with me wherever I go on the weekends so really wanting someone who loves dogs and would be happy to give him some attention.

If you have a motorhome or caravan it can be accommodated on the property. I have a shared driveway and there are two parking spaces off the driveway and a larger parking area up the top of the driveway near the house.

I am just over a 5 minute drive to either Boronia or Ferntree Gully where you will find the major supermarkets and other shops. At The Basin shops there are 3 cafes, a green grocer, a butcher, fish and chip shop, rainy day book store and local post office.
