About this house sitting position in Trinity Beach

Looking for a person or couple to look after our home and pets while we have an extended family Christmas away. (Dates: 16 December 2024 to 10 January 2025)

Our home is located in the quiet northern beach suburb of Trinity Beach with easy access to Cairns city & the south, either by bus or car. As we are on the northern side, Port Douglas is only 45 minute fabulous scenic drive away for your day trips to the Great Barrier Reef, Mossman Gorge and the Daintree Rainforest.

The nearest large shopping centre, cinema & 24hr gym is only 10 minutes away in the suburb of Smithfield. The Airport is 20 minutes drive, and more importantly the beach only 5 minutes drive or short bike ride which offers amazing views, coastal walk, life guard monitored bathing reserve and lovely restaurants, cafes sports club and shops.

The house is 5 years old, well maintained with 3 bedrooms (2 double, 1 single), 2 bathrooms, open planned living to the outdoors with media room. It is fully air-coned which along with the plunge pool will help you cool off during the beautiful tropical days.

Surrounded by nature, you’ll get to enjoy seeing Ulysses butterfly’s, sunbirds and wallabies from our gardens, with rear access to bushland and the adventure playground.

There is also off street parking for 2 vehicles and we have bikes you can utilise to cycle to the beach.

We are surrounded by multiple walking and cycle tracks including world class mountain bike trails.

Only a short drive to other more secluded beaches and popular Palm Cove which offers world class dining options.

In exchange for free accommodation in a tropical holiday destination we ask that you care for our miniature Dachshund (8 months, female), Maltese Shitzu (8yrs, male) and cat (13 yrs, female). While the dogs appreciate daily walks their little legs don’t need to go too far but are happy to play fetch the ball for hours! They are loving, extremely friendly and love company but also content to be left if you go out for the day. They only bark at passing foot traffic which is infrequent. They are fairly obedient and walk well on their leads.

Our fur babies love children and enjoy cuddles on the couch and sleep in the own space at night.

The cat is friendly but isn’t the cuddly type, she prefers to eat and sleep!

Garden care will be low maintenance, just a basic lawn mow, and some watering of a few pot plants, couple of olive trees. Possibly set the sprinkler every few days on the lawns if really hot and dry conditions.

House care will be low maintenance, however cleaning will be required as we don’t have a cleaner. As a general rule we clean the kitchen daily and run the vacuum around the main living space, and then do a normal full house clean weekly.
