The main success criteria for this sitting period is being a dog-lover!

House:

Our home is a 4-BR, 2-bathroom, single-storey brick house.

Bedroom configurations: 1x King (main, with ensuite); 1x Queen; 1x Single with student desk; & another 1x Queen. The house was built 14-years ago and is in good working order. Central ducted heating throughout, and a large reverse-cycle aircon unit centrally located.

Kitchen has a 5-ring gas stove (900mm), electric oven (600mm), with a double-basin broad island facing the loungeroom and dining table areas. Main kitchen fridge, with a back (drinks) fridge in the garage accessed through the walk-thru pantry, with a half-height chest-freezer. Both fridges have a top freezer section. There is a new BBQ on wheels available for use in the garage, to wheel around to the patio. You will not need to bring anything equipment-wise to this house for the kitchen. Nespresso coffee machine and pods galore.

Household WiFi and multiple streaming services accounts pre-connected to the loungeroom tv (included). WiFi passwords on the fridge. Written household instructions are available for whitegoods & security.

The house is in a low-density semi-suburban / semi-rural setting of Wallan's Hidden Valley. Shops and amenities are in the middle of Wallan, (approx 5 mins drive from the house). There is a garden front and back (no maintenance / watering required). There is a level concrete pathway providing a level walkway around the entire house.

The property is just less than 1/2 an acre (1625 m2), with a fully-fenced back yard, a shared-fence neighbour on one side and dedicated green space gap on the other side. Quite large open green spaces surround us and are prevalent throughout Hidden Valley. If you enjoy walking, this is a very good location for such activity.

Pets:

We have three dogs who are well behaved and very social. One of them is an older fella, and we have two relatively new pups that will be ~6 mths old at the time of the sit. Charlie is a 13.5 yrs old Golden Retriever. Casper is a chocolate-merle Border Collie near 5 mths now. Bruce is a Golden Retriever near 5 mths now. They are twice / day for meals. Pups are typically sleeping outside. Charlie is typically sleeping inside.

They are good with kids, and with an introduction also good with other people's pets. They can be indoors and/or outdoors, preferring indoors when people are about, They love company and affection, and return it in spades. Pet food re-supply costs will be borne by us for the 16-days, with as much stock in the house as suitable from the start of the sitting period.

Non-pets:
- there is ample bird-life in the area, and we occasionally put out parrot seed on the fence line for the ‘locals’. Casper & Bruce will often run them off after a period.
- kangaroos are located within the broader Hidden Valley area, very occasionally turning up in the green space outside our fence line/property. Read more...
