About this house sitting position in Wembley Downs

I’m looking for a caring animal lover to look after my very chilled menagerie of dogs, cats and lorikeets… I have fostered animals for over 16 years - over a thousand dogs, cats and birds have come through my hands. As a result some have stayed and all of my animals are rescues.

I'd like someone who has interest and energy to spend chill and cuddle time with them, and definitely someone who doesn't mind a warm pug body under the covers - and potentially a cat sleeping with them as well… I will be asking friends to take on some of my animals to reduce the load, so the following animal count may change 😇

I have four dogs -
Brontë - a 14 year old girl (brindle German shepherd X Bull mastiff approx 30kgs)
Grace- a 14 year old girl (white with brown ears - Bull Arab x Whippet approx 20 kgs)
Matilda - a 6 year old girl (white with brown patches Shitzu x King Charles cavalier approx 10 Kgs)
Barry- a 2 year old boy (Pug- approx 10kgs). I hand raised since he was rejected by his mother at one day old.
The three older dogs are all ex- rescues and foster fails. They all spend most of their time sleeping- especially the two 14 year old girls Brontë and Grace. My baby- Barry (pug) gets picked up 4 days a week by his favourite person (his fairy Dogfather) to spend those days with him from around 8:30am to 5:30pm. And Matilda (the shitzu cross) just wants to be with you constantly.

The four cats are between 8 and 14 years old- once again all rescues and foster fails.
Diego- the boss - ginger 14 years old.
Zara- the bitch- tabby 13 years old. She only lives with me because she loves Diego. Sooo much.
Banjo- the super model - 8 years old. Incredibly sweet.
Monty- the sloth-14 years old. The lights are on but no one is home.

Three of the cats go outside during the day and come in at night for dinner and sleeps. The only one that doesn’t go out is Monty- fluffy and white- he was taken from a drug abuser and was reported by the rescuer to have been injected with some sort of substance. Hence he really has no clue about the world - especially how the cat flap works 🤣🤣. He is a cuddle monster.

The birds are all rainbow lorikeets - they will talk and talk and talk- they have a HUGE vocabulary 😊😊. Bobby is my main boy and has been with me the longest. He has a vocab of over 150 discrete words and uses them constantly. Bobby- will tell you he’s hungry, that he wants apple, or a bath... he swears, calls the dogs, tells them off and is incredibly impressive. I put the birds’ cages outside daily so they can see their friends - and it gives my ears a break 🤣🤣

All the animals get on well. Brontë is the bossy matriarch and demands her dinner at random times of the day.

My house isn’t a designer new age home- it was built in 1960 and definitely is a work in progress. But it’s about 500 metres from the beach and surrounded by parks and birdlife. Read more...
