About this house sitting position in Wembley

Welcome to our home in Wembley! We live in a bright, modern, and easy-care 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home situated in a fantastic, central location. The home features an open-plan living and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, and one on street residents permit parking available. Split AC to kitchen/dining area, ceiling fan to master bedroom.

It’s designed for low-maintenance living, with a neat outdoor patio area perfect for relaxing in the evenings. The property is fully secure and offers a comfortable, private base while you stay in Perth, looking after the place whilst we are away and looking after our heeler cross dog Sammy.

Location & Neighborhood
Our home is located on Barrett Street in the heart of Wembley, one of Perth’s most convenient and desirable inner-west suburbs:

Shops & Dining: A short walk to local cafes, restaurants, bakeries either along Cambridge Street (Wembley or West Leederville) or Subiaco centre shopping strips so lots to chose from.

Outdoors & Recreation: Close to Lake Monger and Herdsman Lake for walking or running, and just a short drive/bus ride to Floreat and City Beach (10min drive).

Public Transport & City Access: Easy access to public transport heading directly into the Perth CBD or down to Subiaco, Leederville, and Fremantle, either buses or 10min walk to West Leederville or Subiaco train stations.

House Sitter Requirements & Responsibilities
We are looking for clean, reliable, and respectful sitters to look after our home while we are away and Sammy our dog.

Main Responsibilities:

General Home Care: Keeping the home clean, tidy, and secure.

Garden Care: The house is on a small rear block (300m2) and there is irrigation so keeping an eye on the outside garden beds and small lawn irrigation and some supplimentary watering to some of the plants in pots inside and outside.

About Sammy our dog:
Sammy is our 26kg rescue Heeler cross. Like many working breeds, he is smart, loyal, and a wonderfully affectionate companion at home where he is fully house-trained and loves to relax. He thrives on daily exercise, loving trips to the beach and longer walks where he can stretch his legs.

Mindset & Behavior:

Around the House: Inside the home, Sammy is super friendly, low-fuss, and easygoing once he knows you.

Out on Walks: Being a high-alert working breed, he is strong-willed and needs a confident handler on lead. He has some natural reactivity/anxiety around small animals (especially cats) and needs a mindful eye when out in public.

Sitter Requirements for Sammy:

Pre-Sit Meet & Greet (Essential): Because Sammy needs a familiar face, we require an in-person meet and greet well in advance of our trip. This ensures everyone—including Sammy—is completely comfortable before we head abroad.

Experienced Handler: Best suited to sitters who have experience with medium-to-large working breeds or rescue dogs and are confident handling a strong dog on a lead.
