Looking for someone who appreciates a comfortable retreat-type atmosphere, in a relaxing mountains home close to walks and Blue Mountains national parks. One 14 year old kelpy, 2 chickens and a few plants to look after.

“Mel communicated well from the onset and had very detailed notes for us on arrival. The chooks were easy to care for and we enjoyed the fresh eggs.
A quiet location with many walks close by. Mels home was snuggly warm with the wood fire and we enjoyed our morning coffee on the sunny verandah. Thanks for the opportunity Mel.”

I was disappointed to come home to find that 3/4 of my winter wood pile (about $350 worth) was used up in the 2 week period (ample gas and electric heating available in the same space so this wood use seems excessive, and the fireplace was overflowing with ash. The recycling bin was full & had not been taken out for collection. My rock gardens and pathways had been dug up and destroyed by the chickens (they had obviously escaped from their little yard). Undoing many hours of paid labour (something I had asked them to prevent and keep an eye on). There is a distinction between a housesit and an AirBnB with the expectation to leave a home in the same state as you find it. I am grateful to them for feeding my chickens whilst away, but feel that some attention to detail and care was lacking there.Other House Sitting positions nearby
