# House Sitter Wanted – Animal Lover Preferred 🐶🐔

Hi there!

My wife and I are looking for a house sitter who loves animals and enjoys a quiet lifestyle while we're overseas.

We rent an older home in Meadowbank with plenty of space, which is perfect for our little family. We share it with our five backyard chooks—**Tofu, Pepper, Maggie, Maple and Poppy.** Three are Silkies and two are rescued battery hens. They honestly keep us grounded during the busy weeks and chaos of Sydney life, and they're full of personality.

We also have our beautiful 4-year-old Staffordshire mix, **Sakura (or "Saki")**. She's a sweet, affectionate girl who loves cuddles, sleeping, food, and spending time with people. She's very easy-going and will happily curl up next to you or, if you prefer, she'll sleep in her own area and patiently wait for breakfast.

We're looking for someone who can stay for the entire duration of our trip and keep everyone company.

## Looking after the chooks 🐔

The girls are very low maintenance.

* Let them out into their secure run each morning.
* Top up their food 1–3 times throughout the day.
* Make sure they have fresh water (check every few days, or more often during hot weather).
* **Every evening, as the sun starts to set, they need to be safely closed back into their coop and secured for the night to protect them from predators.**
* Be prepared—they can be quite chatty and will happily let you know when they think it's feeding time!

## Looking after Saki 🐶

Saki is equally easy to care for.

* Feed her once each morning.
* Let her out into the **front yard** for the toilet around three times a day.
* She absolutely loves lying on the front patio, sunbathing and watching the world go by.

She is **strictly a house dog**, so we ask that she **isn't taken for walks on a leash**. She has plenty of space in the secure front yard to play and relax. Our chooks use the backyard, so it's important that Saki and the chickens remain separated at all times.

Saki is a real cuddle bug, and if you're happy for dogs on the bed, she'll happily sleep beside you. Otherwise, she's perfectly content sleeping in her own space.

Our home is in a quiet, friendly part of **Meadowbank**.

You'll be close to:

* Top Ryde Shopping Centre
* Meadowbank village shops and cafés
* Meadowbank train station (direct services to the Sydney CBD)
* Epping Metro, just a few stops away

We also have fast, reliable internet, making the house ideal if you work from home.

## Who would be the perfect fit?

Ideally, we're looking for someone who is retired or works from home full-time, as Saki enjoys having company throughout the day. More than anything, we'd love someone who genuinely enjoys animals and will treat them like family while we're away.
