About this house sitting position in Woy Woy
Hello! I have been a house/pet sitter in the past but am now on the other side of the fence :) I live in a beautiful granny flat in Woy Woy on the Central Coast and require a sitter from 22 Dec 2024 - 17 Jan 2025 while I am going to Germany.
I have a 2-year-old German Shepherd named Louie, who has a very beautiful nature and lots of energy, but needs structure and routine.
Louie loves a good belly rub but is not much of a cuddler. He is rather a bit of a goofball, who can't get enough play, and absolutely loves every human and every dog.
Louie can get a little reactive while on leash when passing another dog that he can't get to. He is a super friendly dog but he is strong and can be a bit much sometimes because of over-excitement, so I am looking for a sitter who has experience and is comfortable dealing with this sort of behavior.
We do a lot of obedience and agility training. I can leave some instructions to incorporate into daily activities if that's something of interest but I don't expect you to train my dog :)
Louie is generally okay being left alone at home for a few hours every now and then but I work from home so would prefer a sitter, who will be around most of the time as well.
My 2-bedroom granny flat is modern, cozy and completely separate from the main house. It sits behind it up a very long driveway, so it is in a quiet spot and I have great neighbours too :)
It would suit one or two people but given Louie's over-excitement I wouldn't want any children staying at my place. He loves children but can't quite control his excitement :)
And heads up - I don't have a TV :) I only stream Netflix via laptop and projector, so I am offering a little home cinema instead - and I promise I will stock up on popcorn! :)
The area is lovely, though not within walking distance of any beach, unfortunately. There are some sports ovals about 10-15 minutes walk away, where we usually go for a play with other dog friends or just a walk. The Woy Woy waterfront is a great spot for a long walk - 5 min drive, 20 min walk away - and there is a great bush walk just outside Woy Woy, not even 10 min drive away.
Woy Woy train station is 1.3km away - I usually go by bicycle and you are welcome to use it as well if you like. A little mall with Coles/Kmart/Priceline/ BWS/etc is about the same distance away and about 200m further from the station is the Woy Woy wharf right next to a fantastic Fish & Chips shop.
A car is definitely of advantage in the area, especially if you want to go to the beach in Umina (10min), Ettalong (10min), or further up the coast.
I would love to do a meet and greet first and maybe another couple of catch ups before the stay to take Louie for a walk together so he is familiar with you.
We look forward to hearing from you
