Our Home & Pet-Sitting Requirements

We live on the top floor of an apartment, with a lovely big balcony and plenty of sunshine streaming in whenever the Melbourne weather decides to cooperate — it is Melbourne, after all! ☀️

We are vegetarian and vegan, so we don’t cook meat or other animal products in our home. We are happy for cheese, honey and eggs to be brought into or eaten in the home, but we kindly ask that you respect our preference not to cook meat or animal products here. There are plenty of wonderful options nearby if you do eat meat — including the café downstairs, which has a fantastic selection of food.

Our Pets

**You definitely MUST genuinely love cats!** 🐱

Our main resident is **Wesley**, our gorgeous Siberian Forest cat. He is an important part of our family and has a lovely, gentle nature.

Wesley is a bit of a shy guy when he's first introduced to a new person, and he needs a little time to get comfortable with new people.
He prefers to sniff your hand first rather than your hand reaching straight out or over his head to patted. If you hold your hand gently to the side of his face, he may come over and rub his face against your hand.
Once he gets to know you, he will be much more relaxed and affectionate.

One thing to note: Wesley eats raw meat, along with some dehydrated treats. We will provide everything he needs and give you clear instructions about his meals and routine.

There may also be two smallish dogs, -Shanti and Boi- who may come and hang out with you during your stay. They belong to my partner’s daughter, Jasmine. When Jasmine is at work, the dogs may stay with you for the day. They would normally be picked up around 4–6 pm.

The dogs are very loving and affectionate and absolutely adore getting lots of pats and attention. 🐶🐶

We are looking for someone who genuinely loves animals, is comfortable caring for 1 cat and 2 dogs if needed, and who will treat our home and pets with the same care and respect we do.

We also have a small family of magpies that come to our balcony 3 or 4 times a day. We have a special mix for them to eat. Read more...
