My name is Craig and I usually work as a Production Site Manager for festivals and events, both nationally and internationally, but due to the current environment work is on hold for the moment. As a result, I have decided to return home to Queensland to be closer to my family while Mum recovers from brain surgery and I am unemployed. Housesitting your property and pets would be a win-win…win for me. I get to stay near my family while still having my own space, Mum can visit for some ‘animal time’ and Dad just gets a bit of a break. Mum loves animals, was an RSPCA volunteer dog walker for years and really misses being around them. Unfortunately, current health and living arrangements are not conducive to having any at the moment so this is the next best thing. It is also part of my job as a Site Manager that when we take possession of public areas like parks and gardens for an event, I am responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of that space for the duration of the event. In between event contracts I work at my local live music club in Darwin and look after the owner’s house and garden, the club’s large tropical beer garden and their 2 dogs, 3 cats, 4-8 chooks, 5-10 ducks, numerous fish and a turtle whenever they’re away. I have also looked after many of my friend’s places and pets on my travels over the years. Some even call me a bit of a ‘dog whisperer.’ I don’t know about that.
