We are recently retired and would be happy to consider very short sits locally (we live in Tweed Heads) and positions up to 2 weeks elsewhere. We have been experienced and loving pet owners and carers with a genuine affection for and expertise with most animals. Over the years we have had cats of our own, short haired rescue moggies and Burmese brothers, and have recently fostered two retired racing greyhounds, which has brought us a lot of joy and we will continue to foster. Our last boy initially needed a lot of care but he was bouncing with health when he went to his adoptive home at the beginning of the year. We have looked after a range of dogs, for between a few days and several weeks both in our own home and in their families' homes. These include a mid size characterful hound to a small, cheeky moodle. I have also regularly pet sat a gorgeous cat in her place. We have fish, are happy to care for birds, and Neil is a farm lad from NZ, experienced with farm animals.
We own our own home and have high standards. We would care for your home and pets as we would our own. Neil is also very handy, we are keen gardeners, and basic home and garden maintenance is not a problem.
I have a current Working with Children clearance. We have clean recent police clearances and can provide references from our informal house and pet sits, as well as from the regional GAP coordinator for greyhound rehoming.
