We are a retired couple who own our house in Canberra.
We like to travel all areas of Australia and particularly like to spend time getting to know the areas and people that we meet during our stays.

We have 2 sons, one living in Melbourne and the other living on the Northern Beaches.

I like to draw and enjoy playing Mahjong and meeting people, spending time in my home or wherever I am staying. I am a homemaker. My background is hospitality.
My husband has worked with several government departments before his retirement. My husband has many interests that he pursues.

We both like to walk and to swim and enjoy spending time together.

We regularly house / cat sit my son and partners' cat Lilo. Lilo is like a member of the Family.

We have a recent reference (displayed below) and a very recent police check.

Home owners you would not be disappointed in choosing us as your house/ pet sitters!

RE: MAYLENE AND ROGER EVANS – HOUSE SITTING REFERENCE

I was very impressed with the number of great replies I had to my first house sitting post on Happy House Sitters. Among the 8 I had narrowed down, I loved what Maylene had written and immediately got the sense I would be dealing with a lovely, trustworthy, down to earth and friendly couple.

I also knew the house and the area would be a perfect fit for them.

Maylene and Roger were very quick to reply to all communication and made the effort to travel from Canberra to Sydney the next day to meet me, view the house and meet the cat. Straight away I new they would be responsible, caring and thoughtful house sitters. And they certainly lived up to this.

The house was immaculate when I returned and they had gone to the trouble of replacing all items used (washing powder etc – which I wasn’t expecting). They also went the extra mile and upgraded our washing baskets, and laundry tubs, and bought some new kitchen utensils.

The cat received lots of cuddles, was well fed and totally happy upon my return.

I knew Maylene and Roger had family close by, including a young grandchild, and I felt completely happy to have them use my home for their Christmas get together or any grandchild sleepovers.

I would not hesitate to ask Maylene and Roger to housesit for my home and animals in the future. In fact, I intend to call them first and hope it fits their schedule before finding someone else.
