Hi there!
I’m Marika, a kind and respectful traveler from Japan, currently on a long-term journey through Australia and New Zealand. I’m passionate about discovering the everyday beauty of different places by connecting with people, nature, and home life.

Through WWOOF and Workaway, I’ve stayed with families in both Japan and Australia, helping with home care, gardening, cooking, and looking after animals — especially dogs and cats, who often become my best travel companions. I truly enjoy getting to know each animal’s unique personality and caring for them with patience and love.

I’m calm, tidy, and peaceful. I don’t smoke and I live simply. I’m also currently working remotely in university-based research grant support, so I’m home most of the day and can provide consistent care and company for your pets.

I used to work in public service in Japan, supporting cultural and academic projects

I now split my time between remote grant coordination and documenting my journey through essays and photography

I enjoy slow mornings, walks by the sea, stargazing, and cooking nourishing meals

I’m traveling with a personal theme called the “Humanity Update”, and one of my dreams is to visit Antarctica
