🌿 Loving & Experienced Dog/House Sitter Wanted
Albert Park, Melbourne | 18 April – 9 July 2026
We are seeking an exceptional, caring, and experienced dog lover (or couple) to look after our much-loved rescue dog at our cosy home in Albert Park, Melbourne while we are overseas from 18 April to 9 July 2026.
This is a three-month commitment, so reliability, kindness, and genuine love for dogs are absolutely essential.

🐾 About Our Doggy
Our boy is a beautiful rescue dog who has been with us for around six months. He is affectionate, loyal, and good-natured, but like many rescue dogs, he has a few quirks and can be anxious at times.
He is a Kelpie mix, with some Staffy and a dash of German Shepherd. He weighs around 20kg, is about knee height, and while he’s a gentle soul, he comes with a very convincing German Shepherd bark. It’s impressive rather than frequent, but confidence with a dog who can sound bigger than he is will be important.
He thrives on routine, calm energy, and human company, and does best in a settled, predictable environment.

🐾 His Daily Routine
Our dog is happiest when his days follow a gentle rhythm. His routine includes:
Two walks a day, taken at a relaxed and steady pace
Plenty of human company at home, as he is used to someone being around most of the time
Regular meals, quiet time, and a calm, reassuring presence
Gentle interaction rather than lots of stimulation or constant coming and going
We are semi-retired and work from home, so he is accustomed to having his people nearby for most of the day. For this reason, this sit is not suitable for someone who works long hours away from home.
As this is a long sitting period, we also want to reassure potential sitters that we have a trusted local friend who can look after him occasionally should you need to go away briefly during the three months. His routine and wellbeing will always remain the priority.

We live in a lovely, quiet part of Albert Park, close to beautiful walking paths, parks, cafés, and the beach.
Our home is:
A comfortable 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom house
Cosy, light-filled, and easy to live in
With a small, manageable garden
Best suited to a single person or a couple who enjoy calm, home-based living

An experienced dog owner or long-term dog sitter
Someone who works from home, or is semi-retired, or has a lifestyle that allows them to be home most of the time
A calm, dependable individual or couple who genuinely love dogs
Someone comfortable with rescue dogs and familiar with managing anxiety through routine and reassurance
Someone confident handling a medium-sized, strong dog
We are looking for someone reliable, communicative, and trustworthy, who will treat our dog as their own and care for our home with respect.
