About this house sitting position in Boyne Island

We’re looking for a reliable, caring person to look after our 1-year-old Standard Poodle, Jerry, and 8 young chickens while we’re away.

Jerry can be a little timid when meeting someone new but warms up quickly and is very affectionate and loving. He’s easy-going and doesn’t need much — mainly someone around the house and someone to throw the ball for him! We’d need you to arrive around an hour before we leave on Friday so he has time to get comfortable with you.

We’d also consider someone with a friendly dog of their own. Jerry absolutely loves other dogs and having a companion would probably make the transition even easier. He does have a very playful personality though and can be a little persistent/hassley with his play, particularly one-on-one. He’s not rough, he just REALLY wants to play!

The 8 chicks should be old enough to be outside in their secure pen and off heat by then. They’ll just need regular food and water and keeping an eye on while they’re still young.

We live on 10 acres overlooking the river, with a fairly new home, small plunge pool, air conditioning and Wi-Fi. There’s great fishing and crabbing if that’s your thing!

We also have an Airbnb and dog grooming business on the property, but neither are close to the house and neither require anything from you.

We’ll also be heading overseas for just over two weeks in early January. If you happen to be available for both trips, that would be a huge bonus for us! Jerry can take a little time to settle with someone new, so having the same person look after him both times would mean he gets to know you and hopefully make things much easier for everyone
