About this house sitting position in Brisbane

We are heading interstate for ten days from 13 - 23 May 2026. Our 7 year old Schnauzer enjoys morning and afternoon walks and needs these walks as he will not poo in his own backyard. Our inner city home is a Red Hill worker’s cottage.

We are seeking someone to play with Reg, feed him twice daily and generally keep him company. He is a schnauzer who loves to play , eat and sleep but he can be stubborn & doesn’t like the rain. To date he has adjusted well to previous housesitters.

Reg is 7.5 kgs, he’s a happy active fellow although with a recurring back issue which is currently being managed. The vet has advised Reg should be carried upstairs. We have 15 stairs at the back of the house and 4 stairs at the front of the house.

Red Hill is around 3 kilometres from the city. We are close to parks and restaurants, coffee shops and grocery stores. Public transport is also close by. You will have access to a range of streaming channels, wifi, desk and a comfortable bed.

The house is typical of its type , lowset at the front and highset at the back with a pleasant view from the back deck. The neighbourhood is hilly, however it’s still easy to walk. There are plenty of other dog walking folk and dog friendly coffee spots.

We also have 4 small fishponds with guppies.
The ponds do not require much maintenance other than daily fish flakes and topping up if there has been too much evaporation.
Depending on the weather the garden should require little maintenance but pots would need to be watered.

We are a non smoking household. Our sitter would need to be able to manage the hills and the walking schedule.

Ideally we would like someone who can become our regular house sitter as we like to travel. Read more...
