Peaceful Acreage Retreat Surrounded by Nature – North Brisbane
Enjoy a relaxing stay on our tranquil acreage property in Cashmere, north of Brisbane, where native birds, leafy surrounds, and the occasional koala create a true bushland escape. Our home offers a peaceful balance of privacy, comfort, and convenience. This sit is ideal for responsible house sitters who enjoy a quieter lifestyle and spending time at home and in nature.
The Home
Our comfortable and well-maintained home features:
• Two guest bedrooms
• Renovated bathroom with a modern walk-in shower
• Two cosy lounge areas, including leather recliners, both with streaming TV
• Renovated and fully equipped kitchen
• Outdoor BBQ and 3 verandas perfect for relaxing among the trees
• Reliable Wi-Fi throughout the home
You’ll have plenty of indoor and outdoor space to unwind and enjoy the natural surroundings.
The Location
Although the property feels wonderfully secluded, everything you need is close by:
• Local shops and essentials only 2 minutes away
• Major shopping centres, cinemas, and restaurants within 10 minutes
• Beautiful lake walks nearby
• Around 25 km from Brisbane CBD
• Easy access to both the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast beaches (approximately 20–40 minutes by car)
• Train access to Brisbane city available from Strathpine or Petrie stations (about 15 minutes away by car)
• A car is essential, as direct public transport is limited in our area
Plants & Property Care
The property includes gardens and outdoor areas that appreciate light ongoing care and watering, particularly in warmer weather. We will provide clear instructions, and the maintenance is very manageable for someone comfortable with basic garden care. We have no pets.
Non-Negotiables
To ensure the best fit for both parties, please note this property is:
• Best suited to a retired couple or single sitter who spends a good amount of time at home
• Strictly no pets, children, visitors, or smoking
• The steep, winding driveway is not suitable for caravans or motorhomes
Appointing a Sitter
We have been fortunate to have many wonderful sitters care for our home over the past 10 years, all of whom have treated it with great respect. From experience, we have found the following process works well for both parties and aligns with house-sitting service guidelines:
• Applicants we feel are the best fit will be invited to have an initial phone chat, followed by the provision of three references for verification purposes,
• Once both parties are happy to proceed and the sit is confirmed through the house-sitting website and ask for a photo of ID and/or police clearance. We ask the sitter if they can join us for afternoon tea and a tour of the property before the sit commences (or alternatively a virtual chat/tour if needed)
• While not essential, we will look favourably on applicants willing to drive us to and from Brisbane Airport at the beginning and end of the sit (approximately a one-hour round trip in total using our fully insured automatic Mazda 3)
• We provide a comprehensive house manual upon arrival with all the information needed to comfortably manage and enjoy the home during your stay
• Preferred sitter arrival is between 8:00 am and 10:00 am on 19 July 2026, with departure on or after 20 August 2026 to suit your plans
• If interested, we have another sit available 17 – 27 September 2027
