About this house sitting position in COOROY
Our next trip we will need sitters for is Thu 30th May until Fri 21st June 2024 ??
We are hoping to find an energetic/active, honest, responsible, caring, calm, nature-loving, handy couple/individual to look after our acreage property and pets :) Ideally you and/or your partner will not have a 9-5 job, as we don't, so our fur babies are used to having someone home at least part of most days. Of course there are exceptions where we are out most of the day and/or into the night, however generally they are not left alone for more than 4-5hrs at a time and have multiple days where we are mainly home.
We usually have a variety of sit opportunities throughout the year and would love to find a house/pet sitter who may be keen and available to sit multiple times per year if it ends up being a good fit!
Our property maintenance this time around will be minimal in winter. It will mainly be watering pot plants and we will get our lawns mowed/snipped for you in our absence. Our animal care includes 2 dogs (10 and almost 11 yrs old but basically still puppies!) and 2 cats (6 and 16 yrs old). Ideally we would like to find housesitters who we can use on a regular basis so our animals can form an awesome relationship and the whole thing will seem like an exciting holiday for them too with new people to play with! However, we understand this may not be possible and are simply searching for the above dates to start with.
THE SPACE: We live on beautiful acreage down a dirt road but are only 5 minutes outside of Cooroy, which is 20 minutes to Noosaville, 10 minutes to Eumundi, 30 minutes to Noosa/beaches etc. There is a steep hill with a ridge at the top of our property (4WD/AWD access only or hiking) - fantastic views and a very peaceful environment (once you make the ascent! :)) There is a quiet, repectful tenant living in the cabin at the top of the ridge, however you will likely not even see or hear her unless you hear her car coming and going in the distance. You will not be able to see each other as the cabin is very far away from the main house with trees and a hill in between.
Our eldest dog, Floyd, is a large, rescue dog (so we don't know what he is) but he can have heaps of energy and needs someone firm, strong and confident to make him submissive (does this best for males, but unfortunately we are both females ha!). He has definitely aged in the last year but can be a bit anxious at times. Loves attention and pats! Our next dog, Millie, is everything you expect a loving, playful, cute Yellow Lab to be and is the easiest to care for. Predictably loves food, walks up the ridge, and snuggles! Our cat, Cuddles, 16yo queen on the house, has become quite loving as she has aged but can still be a bit shy at first. Marlow, our youngest, has settled down over the past 2 yrs and is now 6yo. Generally he chills during the day and is most needy and active during the morning and evening. He is an aggressive snuggler who definitely needs daily loves!
If you wanted to be amazing and do some weeding during your stay, there is never a shortage! But also not required!
Because the property is rural, we are on tank water, septic and solar, so a basic understanding of what this means would be great, as well as an energy/water- conscious attitude.
