About this house sitting position in Darra

Hi. We are located in Brisbane, in the neighbourhood of Darra, which is 11 km from the CBD. Our house is a three bedroom with two rooms used for offices. There is a queen-sized bed in the bedroom and a futon in one office that coverts to a double bed.

We are looking for a person(s) to house sit for us and keep our pets company. We will be gone from noon on Wed Jan 7 to 5 p.m. on Friday Jan 9 2026.

Our dog, Rio, is 13 years old and very sweet. She is a medium-sized staffy Australian cattle dog cross. She is okay being at home on her own for some hours but generally one of us is home most days. We give her a 30 minute walk at night. Manita, our cat, is 9. She sleeps on the bed all day and comes to get you when she wants to eat.

I am afraid that our pets do not do well with other pets.

We have AC units in living room, the kitchen and the two offices, so you should be comfortable during the day. The bedroom doesn't have an AC but we have always been comfortable in there at night using the ceiling fan and a floor fan.

The neighbourhood is quiet. We are about a 10-minute walk to Darra, train station, which takes you right in to Brisbane CBD. For shopping, there is a bus about a 2 minute walk away that will take you to the Monier Road Shops (15 minute ride) which has a Woolworths, an Aldi's, a chemist, cafe, restaurants and a nice park.
