About this house sitting position in Eltham

Hi - we are Sam & Sandi, We live in a very comfortable and well equipped 4 bedroom home in beautiful Eltham town - walking distance to shops, restaurants and public transport. We are looking for someone to love and care for our 6 year old rottweiler dog for just over a week and do the handover to our usual dog/house sitter who will take on the rest of the stay from 21st June.
We have a built in pool, all the creature comforts and amenities needed and lots of different lovely places to just sit and enjoy your time here. Chief, (at that time) will be 6 and a half years old and is a very lovable and friendly Rottweiler (but still a bit rambunctious when first meeting people), who just adores people but is also a good guard dog to the property. He enjoys 2 x short walks per day. One after breakfast and one just after dinner before it gets dark. He is certainly not built for speed or endurance and because he had both cruciate ligaments operated on a year ago we try to keep him calm on his walks and at home.
He has attended and passed puppy, beginner and intermediate dog school and is a great learner and will do most things for a treat. He is very settled at home and sleeps all night inside on his doggy bed in our main bedroom and also sleeps a lot during the day in between small walks, pats and eating. When walking him we encourage you to take his treat bag, so he listens to his set commands more easily. He is good on lead, however is strong and sometimes pulls, so you need to ensure you are fully tuned into him on the two small daily walks to anything that may trigger him. We will discuss walking options when we find the right candidate as keeping him company and well loved is our main priority whilst we are away.

We would prefer single retired or semi retired people or people who can work from home as opposed to have to go out for hours on end to work, as Chief will get sad if left too long and needs the company. Anything more than about 3-4 hours tops alone in the house is all he is used to as we all work from home, so is used to fairly constant company.
We would prefer you to come and stay one night before we go away so that you can see the bulk of the routine and you are comfortable and it will help both you and Chief assimilate. He is honestly the sweetest boy who everyone who knows and meets loves him and we really just need him in really good care with someone who will fill any gaps of Love that we usually give him every day.
