House & Cat Sitter Wanted – Peaceful stone cottage in the hills and forest above Laidley

I am looking for a caring, reliable cat lover to enjoy two weeks in my characterful stone cottage, on a peaceful forested block on the Range above Laidley in the beautiful Lockyer Valley.

You’ll have a comfortable rural retreat, with a gentle and sociable cat for company and a few simple responsibilities to keep my home, plants and grounds cared for.

I am looking for someone special to look after my home and my much-loved cat while I am away.

The house sit is for two weeks: 5–18 October 2026.

My home is a characterful stone cottage set amongst forest on a rural block on the Range above Laidley . It is a quiet and private place, surrounded by nature and well away from the bustle of suburbia.

The cottage has one bedroom and one bathroom, with Wi-Fi. It is on tank water, so some sensible care with water use is required.

The main responsibility is my cat, who is sociable, quiet and gentle, and enjoys having people around. She needs feeding, fresh water, attention and, most importantly, company and someone who is genuinely happy to spend time with her and keep her normal routine going.

There are also plants and some garden and property areas that need occasional attention. Nothing too onerous — I mainly need someone who is observant, takes pride in looking after a place and will notice if something needs watering, checking or reporting.

In return, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a peaceful country/forest setting and a comfortable home, with the company of a lovable cat.

I am looking for someone trustworthy, responsible and respectful, who genuinely loves cats and is comfortable with a quiet rural lifestyle. Good references and/or previous house- or pet-sitting experience would be preferred.

I would like to meet or speak with prospective sitters beforehand to make sure that we are all comfortable with the arrangement.
