About this house sitting position in Maslin Beach
Come and enjoy a little beachside escape in our cute and quirky home on a quiet street in Maslin Beach, just a five-minute stroll from the sand and with ocean views from the house.
The house is comfortable and full of character, with a king-size bed, infrared sauna, split system heating / cooling in the lounge room and bedroom, Netflix, internet, and a lovely outdoor area and garden - perfect for relaxing after a day at the beach.
You’ll be keeping company with two very different (and very loved!) cats. Our 14 year old tabby girl is an independent lady who enjoys chin scratches, hanging out on the couch, and soaking up the sun in the outdoor cat enclosure. Our cuddly six-year-old grey boy loves laps, attention, and enthusiastic headbutts, and will happily soak up as much affection as you’re willing to give him. The cats are indoor cats (with access to an outdoor enclosure) so you’ll just need to be mindful of keeping doors closed so there are no feline escapees! Our plants may also need some watering in hot weather, but we find this is a peaceful way to watch the sunset with the sound of the waves in the distance (and we hope you’ll enjoy it too!).
Maslin Beach is, in our admittedly biased opinion, the most beautiful beach in Adelaide. It has a huge stretch of soft sand, gentle waves, and spectacular ochre-coloured cliffs. And yes, it’s famous for being Australia’s first official nudist beach, but that’s only around a quarter of the beach, tucked away at the far end near the cliffs! The rest is a regular beach.
Just five minutes’ walk from the house you’ll also find a beachfront playground, outdoor gym and BBQ facilities.
Maslin beach is a quiet suburb tucked away on the edge of the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula. McLaren Vale wine country is about an 8 minute drive away. Within a 30-50 minute drive there are many scenic locations including Victor Harbor, Goolwa, Second Valley, Sellicks Beach, and Normanville. The ferry service to Kangaroo Island is just over an hour’s drive away at Cape Jervis. Adelaide CBD is about a 45-50 minute drive away (outside peak hour). The closest shops and supermarket are a 5 minute drive. Cafes, restaurants, and pubs are from about 6 minutes drive away.
If you love cats, the ocean, and the idea of a peaceful coastal stay with a sauna thrown in, we think you’ll feel very at home here. Read more...
