Our Home

We recently purchased this character-filled home and have completed a significant renovation, including fresh paint throughout, new flooring, updated lighting and furnishings. While the kitchen and bathroom are older, they are clean, functional and well maintained, with longer-term renovations planned for the future.

The house has three bedrooms, comfortable living spaces and everything you’ll need for an enjoyable stay. There is off-street parking available in the driveway, as well as plenty of on-street parking.

Mayfield is one of Newcastle’s most popular inner-city suburbs, offering a great mix of character homes, cafés and local shops, while still maintaining a relaxed neighbourhood feel. You’ll be just a short walk or drive from supermarkets, cafés, restaurants and everything along Maitland Road.

Our home is conveniently located:

* Around 10 minutes from Newcastle CBD and the city’s beautiful beaches.
* Close to the harbour and Honeysuckle dining precinct.
* Approximately 15–20 minutes from Newcastle Airport.
* Near the University of Newcastle, local parks and walking paths.

It’s a comfortable base to explore Newcastle while enjoying the company of our two friendly Golden retrievers.


Our Dogs

Meet Reggie & Blu

We’re looking for a sitter who is experienced and confident with larger dogs.

Reggie is our 2-year-old Golden Retriever. He’s still very much in his teenage phase! While he’s a lovely, affectionate boy, he can get very excited and is still learning good lead manners, so he does pull on walks from time to time.

Blu is our 8-year-old Golden Retriever. He’s calm, gentle and easy-going, and helps keep Reggie in check.

Both dogs are indoor members of the family. They spend time outside during the day but should be inside whenever you’re home and overnight.

At bedtime, Blu is happy to sleep on the floor, while Reggie considers himself a “foot of the bed” kind of dog. You’re welcome to move him off if you prefer, but don’t be surprised if he quietly sneaks back once you’re asleep!

One important note is that Reggie can sometimes be anxious around children. Because of this, we don’t think our home would be the best fit for a sitter bringing young children. Read more...
