About this house sitting position in Mona Vale

We're looking for a house sitter in Sydney's beautiful Northern Beaches for our gorgeous 12 year old Spaniel dog Dexter and our 2 year old rescue pup Indie. Both are medium sized dogs. Indie can still be a bit excitable and jump up to greet people but generally just sleeps and loves cuddles.

The main thing is we need someone loving who will use only positive reinforcement methods (she will do anything for a treat!).

Our home is a large, 30 year old 2 floor house with a pool and large yard. that is partly renovated. The back is blocked off at the moment for the kitchen renovation. The top floor is all renovated. There is a new kitchen- living room there for you to use and the downstairs bedroom, where you would sleep, is also modern, as are the bathrooms.



The dogs would ideally have 2 20-30 min local lead walks a day. You can also take Indie on walks to the local shops etc if you like, Dexter is a bit old for that now! The dogs are used to sleeping in our room so ideally we would have someone comfortable with that arrangement. They’re very quiet at night, they are just used to company.

Ideal would be a single female or young couple who will be around a lot as the dogs like a quiet life and Dexter is occasionally scared of older men. You would need to stay mainly in the house and garden (we do have a pool) but the dogs can be left for up to 4.5 hours at a time. We have a granny flat at the back of the garden lived in by a lovely older lady. She would be happy to let the dogs out if needed if you wanted to go out for longer on occasion. They love going to visit her for treats!


No other pets and no families- sorry!

Other than loving them and keeping them safe, plus taking them on 20-30 minute lead walks twice a day, we need someone who will not leave Dexter and Indie for more than 4- 4.5 hours at a time. They are used to having us home quite a lot- they don't suffer separation anxiety when we go out, they just sleep , but they're inside dogs and need regular toilet breaks (we do have people that can come in a few times if you wanted to go out for longer than 4.5 hours sometimes so you would have the opportunity to explore the area or Sydney further if you needed).

We live in the Northern Beaches of Sydney, walking distance of our local town centre, bay and beach. It’s a beautiful part of the world,- we have 14 beaches within 15 minutes drive! The Bline bus takes you to the city in approx 50 mins and runs every 5-8 minutes. Driving to the city takes between 35 m and 1 hour, depending on the time of day. The Keoride minibuses take you to local beaches and the shopping centre for the price of a bus.

Our house is big, clean and comfortable. 2 of the bathrooms and the laundry are newly renovated as are a few bedrooms. The rest is functional but 30 years old now. We have a heated pool and spa for your use and a large fenced yard. Your bedroom, bathroom and the laundry are all fully renovated. The house has new appliances including a dishwasher and ducted aircon / heating.

We are looking for ideally a single mature lady as Dexter is most comfortable with women. They will be happiest and most relaxed in a quiet home. A young couple would also work, (occasionally Dexter is scared of older men). No one with their own pets or kids, sorry and no one without verified reviews or references for dog sitting from elsewhere.

You can stay longer to explore the area as we have a separate 1 bed apt within our home, you are welcome to stay either before or after.
