About this house sitting position in Redbank

We're looking for a house sitter to take care of our home and two fur babies, Heston & Logan, while we are overseas.

About us:
We're Kirra and Ollie, a couple in our mid-30's who live with our dog Heston, an 8 year old German Shorthaired Pointer, and Logan, a 10 year old ginger cat.

Heston is a large dog (almost 40kg and quite tall) that prefers to spend his days snoozing on the couch or looking at the neighbour's chickens through the fence. He is friendly with humans and dogs alike, and loves food! He has the softest ears.

A short 20 min walk once a week is all he needs, but he would honestly prefer just to hang out with you when you're at home and walking him is not a need.

He is a deep chested dog who needs to be fed morning and night to prevent bloat.

Logan is a fairly shy cat who loves laying in the sun and chin scratches, but doesn't like sudden loud noises or being picked up. He may take a few days to warm up strangers during which time he will spend a lot of time hiding in one of his hiding spots. Once he he's feeling brave you'll be surprised at how chatty and cuddly he can be (especially around meal times!). He also gets fed twice a day because his big-little brother does.

Our home is a character-filled high-set traditional Queenslander with a large yard, modern bathroom, & kitchen. The main bedroom has a queen bed with aircon. The guest room has a sofa bed that pulls out to a double.

Help yourself to streaming services, Wi-Fi, air conditioner, espresso machine, video consoles etc. Our house is yours for the stay.

Within a 10-minute walk of our house there is a shopping centre, 2 pubs, bus stops, and a train station that goes directly into Brisbane or Ipswich.

About you:
Police Check is required.
You could be a single person, a couple, or a family with older children.
Small children/babies would not be suited due to the highset nature of the house, Heston being so big and Logan just being a cat. Happy to consider a sitter with their own dog as well if it is cat-friendly.

It would be great if you have experience with large dog breeds (either owning or sitting), the risk of bloat, and physically able to walk up and down steep steps.

We would also love a physical catchup if you can in the days before so you can meet Heston and we can show you around the house.
