About this house sitting position in Redhead
Enjoy the sound of the surf as you fall asleep. We're only two blocks (a short 7-minute walk) to beautiful Nine Mile Beach. It's a surfer's and fisher's delight! Directly across the road from our home is a state park, with beautiful walks through sand dunes and wetlands.
Our home has 4 bedrooms and a bathroom on the main level. On the lower level, there is a guest suite with kitchenette and bathroom. We have a large deck with a bush view.
We have all the usual modern conveniences including wi-fi, which guests are free to use, ducted air con/heating, piano, dishwasher, etc. There will be a space for your car in our carport.
Our main priority is our two small dogs. We treat them like our children, and they sleep in our king-sized bed with us, so we need a house sitter who can let this continue. We currently have a small pug x foster dog who may or may not still be here in February.
The dogs are easy to look after. Just 2 meals a day and a 20 minute walk. Fergus is a Shih tzu mix, rescue dog, around 5 years old. He has a deformed leg so he can only do a short walk to sniff around the park at the end of the street. Ezra the Chihuahua is satisfied with this short walk as well.
We are retired so the dogs are used to having someone home most of the time. We require a house sitter that doesn't work or only works part time. Must be a non-smoker. Mature age, single or couple preferred. No children or other pets.
Redhead is a quiet village but close is to major centres. Redhead has a patrolled beach. There are local shops including take-aways, cafes, a Chinese restaurant, bowling club, surf club, post office, bakery, news agent, doctor's office and pharmacy. The nearby Fernleigh Track is a popular, 15km walking and cycling path.
A major shopping centre is only a 10-minute drive away. Newcastle city centre is an approximately 20-minute drive away. There is a public bus on demand.
Lake Macquarie is a 10-minute drive away and has beautiful views, picnic spots, trendy cafes, fishing, swimming and boating.

Terri is an excellent communicator. Her expectations of the sitter are respectful and reasonable. She provides a small manual of her pets needs, how everything in the house runs and all essential services.
The location is a beach person’s paradise, quiet, many walking tracks and an excellent surf club.
The task involved caring from three rescue dogs and a text on a photograph in the sitting room says it all “ who rescued who? ” three delightful, quiet friendly pets who welcome you in immediately
There is a small but adequate shopping centre and transport either by dial a bus service or the regular NSW transport dept bus is adequate.
