About this house sitting position in South Melbourne
The sit is entirely for the purpose of being home with my matured aged delicate naked cat companion animal who requires large amounts of human presence particularly from afternoon through to sleeping hours.
1. It’s a small unit so all her stimulation and exercise comes from human touch and interaction, as well as night times sleeping with you for body heat.
2. She needs washing in the kitchen sink once a week as naked cats build up oil so gentle washing experience without getting water temp not too hot, and no water in ears or eyes.
3. She has a small mouth/finds it difficult to eat more than a few pieces of her medical food at a time, so in the evening it requires patience and persistence to put the bowl back in front of her every 15 mins until the food’s gone, as she won’t eat it if it’s dried out. Same with the biscuits, she can only eat a teaspoon at a time every few hours, otherwise they go too stale and hard so she won’t eat them.
4. We have an in house main living area pet cam (ofc not in the bath or bedroom) as we travel often we like to see our baby.
LOCATION
Your days in South Melbourne often begin with the steady pace of local life. Take the resident dog for an early circuit around Albert Park Lake, joining other early risers enjoying the fresh air and expansive views. The lake’s perimeter offers a substantial walk, and you'll quickly learn the quieter side paths. Returning home, the aroma of roasting coffee from nearby Clarendon or Coventry Streets signals the start of the retail day.
Mid-morning calls for a trip to the South Melbourne Market, a cornerstone of the area. Here, you'll find everything from fresh produce and specialty cheeses to baked goods—ideal for stocking the kitchen. The short walk is manageable with a dog, pausing for a quick water break at a street-side tap. Finding a quiet spot for a coffee after your market haul becomes part of the routine, observing the flow of shoppers and locals.
Later in the day, a more relaxed stroll through the intricate pathways of St Vincent Gardens provides a gentle alternative for pet exercise, offering shade and quiet pockets. Should you wish to explore beyond, South Melbourne's tram network is easily accessible; a short ride can take you to the city or down to Port Melbourne beach for a different outlook. The convenience of these routes means less time commuting and more time settling into the rhythm of this distinct locale, ensuring both your charge and your own needs are met with ease. Read more...
