About this house sitting position in Swanbourne

We are a family of five – a couple in our 40s with three teenage children – living in a comfortable home with gardens in the western suburbs of Perth. During the July school holidays, we will be travelling to Darwin for a cultural trip and are looking for a caring and reliable house and pet sitter to look after our beloved Jack Russell, Dr Jones, while we are away.

Dr Jones is almost 18 years old and is very much a cherished old gentleman. He is blind and has severe dental problems, for which he takes pain medication to keep him comfortable, as he is no longer able to undergo anaesthetic for dental treatment. Because of his blindness, we feel it is best for him to remain in the familiar surroundings of his own home. He needs someone to feed him, let him outside, and give him a tablet and a liquid medication each evening. Occasionally, he has accidents on the tiled floors, although he will usually bark to let you know when he needs to go out. From time to time, he may wake during the night needing to be let outside or may need some help locating his food or water bowls.

Despite his age-related quirks, Dr Jones is a very easy companion. He spends most of the day sleeping, doesn’t require walks, and simply enjoys having someone around to love and care for him.
