About this house sitting position in Thornbury

We live in a renovated Edwardian two bedroom house in Thornbury (7km north of Melbourne CBD), within a 5 minute walk to Thornbury village - a bustling street with cafes, shops, bars and Thornbury picture house (a very cute cinema). Our house is conveniently located for public transport access.

We are looking for a house and pet sitter to look after our very affectionate 15-year old staffy (Sage) and 9 year old cat (Peppa). The only requirement would be to walk our dog for 15 minutes every 1 or 2 days. She is in her golden years so does not need much walking.

Sage's vision and hearing is on the decline. Because of this she likes to have a human presence to help anchor her, especially overnight (i.e., she likes to sleep in the bed with a human). She also snores which we find endearing, but this may not suit some :)

“Lana, Andrew and Oscar, and Sage and Pepa are great. I stayed at their home for 5 weeks. Before the sit Lana and Andrew gave prompt communication and invited me over to meet Sage and Pepa. House and pet guidance was clear and their welcoming nature made me feel right at home. Sage and Pepa became my shadows providing me close company during the deepening winter nights. Sage the Staffy is easy to look after, she only really wants for human company (and is quick to accept any food). She respected my working and quiet times by leaning on and/or sleeping by me. She's an easy, slow walk; doesn't care for other dog, just their smells. Like most staffies, she fills silences with her noises, which became a comfort for me. Pepa just chills, whilst looking gorgeous. Glad to have met all five beings. 10/10 would sit again. ”

“We couldn’t have had a better first housesitting experience using this platform. We stayed for a bit longer than two weeks with Sage and Pepa. They are so loveable, easy and low maintenance and Lana and Andrew are very warm and welcoming people and really wanted us to feel at home. Their house is lovely and in a very nice neighbourhood. We hope to see them again when we return to Melbourne.”
