About this house sitting position in Williamstown

We're looking for someone responsible to look after our house, cat and dog. Our home is in Williamstown, Victoria - a beautiful suburb on Port Phillip Bay about 20-30 minutes suburban train ride from the Melbourne CBD.

Our place is a 2 storey, 3-4 bedroom 1980s house with views of the bay. It’s very comfortable, roomy and in a great location. We have a pool that can be enjoyed and Williamstown beach is a very short walk away (close enough to walk out the door in your swimmers). There is broadband internet, air-conditioning and a garage for a car.

Williamstown has lots to do - see the visitwilliamstown website. The best things about our place:
-> Williamstown is peaceful and quiet (except on hot summer weekends when many people visit the beach) b
-> It is an easy trip to the city.
-> Great views of the bay that give a wonderful sense of space.
-> A very quick walk and you’re at the swimming beach.
-> We’re close to great walking/cycling/jogging tracks along the bay.
-> We’re close to Jawbone Marine Sanctuary if you like snorkelling.
-> Lots of restaurants and cafes close by – including a great little kiosk on the beach
There’s also lots to distract you if you’re interested in history.

Pets
We have a cat and a dog that need to be looked after and given lots of love.
-> Matilda is a a very friendly 10-year old domestic short-haired cat who is fairly self contained. She is very happy to sleep the day away and enjoys sitting on a friendly lap on the couch in the evening. We keep her inside.
-> Lola is a medium-sized 4-year old black Labrador-cross. We adopted her in March 2023 as a rescue dog - she is very sweet and affectionate but a little anxious from her unfortunate past life, though getting more and more at home every month. She would not do well left all day on her own. She is friendly and loves going for drives - but she may not do well with small children.
They both get fed morning and night. Lola needs a walk once or twice a day preferably with a visit to one of the two off-lead parks on the foreshore that are very close. Matilda’s litter tray would need to be cleaned daily.

House Tasks
Looking after Matilda and Lola, scooping out leaves from the pool each day, checking for mail daily, watering the house-plants and garden and putting out and bringing in the bins once a week.
Other than that - relaxing and enjoying what Williamstown has to offer.

The dates:
-
> From: Tuesday 24 December (we'll leave in the morning)
-
> To: Monday 6 January (we'll arrive back in the early evening)
Christmas and New Year in Melbourne!

Cheers and look forward to meeting you!
