More information about this house sitter
Following my decision to retire, I decided to start house sitting on a full time basis so I could see more of Australia - and also because I have a genuine fondness of animals - of all shapes & sizes.
I am now in my 2nd year & have successfully completed house sits ranging from 5 days to 3 months. My travels have taken me through Victoria, New South Wales & Queensland to date & have included off-grid rural properties, inner city terraces & coastal homes.
I have enjoyed the company of small, medium & large dogs, kittens & adult cats, baby chicks & chickens, ducks, tropical fish and parrots - some of whom required daily medications. administered orally & with their food.
I am comfortable handling large dog breeds & have walked Maremmas, French Mastiffs, Labradors, German Shepherds & Boxers.
I really enjoy learning about the local history of the various locations I've been to & joining in community events.
I am a quiet, calm, relaxed person and this seems to allow me to quickly establish a good rapport with owner's pets. I enjoy living in a clean and tidy environment, like routine and can carry out a set of instructions faithfully. I am respectful to people, their property and, of course, their beloved pets.
I am a non-smoker and have never used recreational drugs.
I grew up in Sydney as one of 6 children. For the past 25 years, I have lived in Manly QLD - a bayside suburb of Brisbane where I raised my 3 sons.
My sons are all adults now & getting on with their lives in Brisbane. I also have 4 siblings scattered throughout New South Wales.
My past community involvement includes 4 years as President of the Wynnum General Gordon Kindergarten, 3 years with Rosies - an organisation providing food van & moral support to homeless & disadvantaged people as well ad hoc volunteering roles with the Kokoda Youth Foundation, Cancer Council QLD Iona College, Nature Freedom, Tomakin Triathlon & the Gold Coast Marathon.
I keep myself active and walk at least 7 klms each day in addition to doggie walks I might do.
I am able to do basic gardening duties, lawn mowing, property maintenance and am reasonably handy. I have good problem solving skills and I'm able to deal with maintenance situations if any arose.
My ID has been independently verified by the 2 house sitting websites I belong to & I can provide a National Police Check Report. I also have written employment & real estate agency references. My reviews for completed house sits are attached to my profile .
There are also 11 other positive reviews available on the other house website I belong to (sorry - not allowed to mention their name here but have attached a screen shot). I also have positive reviews available from 3 house sits where I was directly referred.
I would be delighted to provide any further information that would help you. Read more...
