Yvette and I have been so lucky these past 3 months (Jul - Oct 26) to look after Zak, the most incredible Beagle.

He has been such a pleasure to look after, huge character, spoilt in a good way - and just totally adorable. He is our couch potato, come Olympic sprinter when the fridge opens and he catches a whiff of cheese or something else yummy!

Our stay in Mackay with Zak will be concluding in early October.

We will definitely miss him however, he is off to join his parents on their next 12 month travel adventure around Australia!

We are working our way up to Darwin (slowly..) so will be looking for suitable sits along the route - again no rush on our side, we are enjoying the journey!

If a considerably longer sit materialises somewhere else in Australia that is interesting to us, we are amenable to a total change in State/Territory, in the midst of our circular plan!

We prefer to experience different areas of Australia properly and also for the pets we may be looking after to settle comfortably, happy and safe in our care.

We do also take on housesits occasionally without any pets - if all you need is your home occupied for security, maintenance and peace of mind reasons whilst you are away on your travels.

I, (Adam) will be starting a Degree (was fortunate to cross-credit some units) in Nov 26, however the entire course is online, so it will not impact where we decide to sit - internet coverage is fortunately so wide these days.

We began our house-sitting adventure in April 2019 after vacating our apartment in Armadale, VIC with the intention to spend 8 -10 years discovering and “living” in different parts of Australia.

We have so far enjoyed almost every sit we have undertaken (out of 46 odd sits we have only had 2 that were not so good). So all in all a really good innings!

We are a stable couple without any encumbrances, never quite brave enough to have human children, though more than compensated by the pets with whom we have shared our lives.

Traveled extensively, owned and maintained homes in a few countries from apartments, town houses, residential 1/2 acres to 2 and 1/2 acre country "estates"..

Always had pets of our own in the past, that never ever spent a night unaccompanied. A Weimaraner, Doberman, Beagles, Dachshunds and a few crazy cats who all lived out their lives in comfort and gave us great joy.

I work mostly from home (computer-related) and Yvette has worked in the travel industry for 20 odd years. Her last full-time Travel employment was in Armadale, VIC - after Covid 19 struck and affected us all, Yvette decided to change direction, re-trained, certified and licensed in the field of Individual/Aged Care.

She has spent some time as we have travelled around and on our longer sits to engage with some Aged Care Centres and although only on a casual basis, has enjoyed the work immensely!

In between she has also taken up casual positions in Medical facilities doing varied reception tasks.

We really only have three requirements from our side - internet reception, parking and house-proud owners/tenants.

Another important point (probably also an additional requirement...) we prefer that dogs are permitted in the house, even if their normal sleeping arrangements are elsewhere, garage, shed, laundry etc. however we do not do well in situations where the dogs are not allowed indoors at anytime!

Of course - this does not apply to situations where the owners dogs are specifically "working" dogs - we respect that difference.

We do now also have our own fairly extensive mobile data supply to utilise if for some reason you may not have an internet service.

All of the pets we have looked after have had their own unique personalities, quirks and characteristics, much like we do as humans.

We are so appreciative that their owners have ensured that they have enlisted the best people …

(That’s us!) - to play with and love them, and of course keep their bowls full of food and water, give them snacks when they are allowed, to weather out terrifyingly loud thunderstorms with them and notice when they might have a problem and need to go to the vet - even though they might consider that last one an unnecessary event themselves!

Although at this point we are not prepared to take on pets of our own long term, we are really enjoying the opportunity once again of looking after some furry friends whilst their own parents are away and also been able to experience life in totally different areas without creating any long-term limiting encumbrances.

We hope we will be able to fill in as "parents and/or custodians" of your pets and/or home, whilst you are away pursuing your own recreational, adventure or other decided break from your everyday life at home.

For reference if others are looking for home sitters. We just came back from an overseas trip - 35 days - and found our place in pristine condition. Communication was great all the time, any doubts quickly addressed. Pets were happy, house and pool clean. They did a better job than I do with the place! :) Highly recommended.

This is a couple you can completely trust with your home and pets. They are the loveliest people to speak to, and genuinely care for other people's animals as they would their own. My dog was in such good hands, I am not sure she missed me at all and that's actually a really good result!
My home was pristine on my return, and my dog was very happy. Adam and Yvette's communication was always excellent, and they handled a big Brisbane blackout while I was away with grace and calm - their experience as house sitters really shows in their problem solving.
Finding a beautiful home cooked meal waiting for my dinner on return was just beyond any expectations I had - but very much on brand for these two lovely people.

We just arrived back and Adam and Yvette were amazing. They stayed at our place with the pets until a couple of hours before we arrived to make sure they were okay. We came home at midnight to clean linen, fresh bread, milk and chocolates which is exactly what you need after a 24 hour flight. The house was so so clean and the garden freshly mowed. During the month long trip they sent us regular pictures and updates on our fur babies. They fixed our pool when the rain sent it green.
Our trip was so enjoyable because we felt confident that our house and pets were being cared for the way we would do it. We will certainly be asking them to do it again. We have never used house swap before but we'd certainly do it again. It is a win win.

Adam and Yvette were very quick to respond to our request. Adam continually updated us with any concerns and things in general. Yvette was amazing at keeping me updated on Bears (small dog.) Health and any issues. I could see that Bear was spoiled in my seven week overseas break. By all the new squeaky toys & A new bed. Bear needs a monthly injection and that wasn't an issue for Yvette to take to the vet. I felt reassured and comfortable that my home and dog were in good hands. I would be happy to have them stay again on future trips away. I feel that Adam & Yvette are honest and genuine people.

Adam & Yvette house just did a house sit for us for almost 4mths finishing their house sit on 5/10/24.

We cannot thank you enough for a stress free, knowing our home was in good safe hands. They are such a lovely couple with a lot of experience.

We did a face to face meeting before the sit with 2 couples. We felt Adam & Yvette was the best suited house sitters for our home .

Their way to communicate through What's App is absolutely the best way to send videos for all instructions on how our home is run.

They sent us any bills that needed to be taken care of by us with them sending photos through What's App.
This was extremely a wonderful idea to do all communication as at anytime they could look back on these videos on how we run our home. We felt so at ease.

We came home to the way we left it. In the past we had other sitters that have not done this.
Everything was done from house clean, lawn and garden look absolutely amazing nice and green they way we like it.

It is very hard to impress myself and my husband, but they have done nothing but extremely impress me with everything. The care and love they put in is amazing.

For further sits they do, we highly recommend on using their Whats app. They took full control of our ring app not once we did we feel stressed at all.
They are such a calm and relaxed couple.
They communicated with us about anything that they had issues with the home straight away.
We will certainly have Adam & Yvette house sit for us again.

We have just returned to a beautiful clean house with a meal prepared for us. Thank you guys.
Adam and Yvette were amazing people to look after our dog Picasso. They clearly enjoyed his company and Picasso had obviously bonded well with them.
I think he will miss them dearly.
They were extremely good at communciating with us whilst we were away and photos were sent every few days to us each with a different twist showing Picasso's nature in many varying aspects. Obviously they went to a great deal of trouble in thinking up different situations, knowing the pleasure it would bring us.
I would most definately recommend Adam and Yvette to look after your house and pet/s. They treated our house with a great deal of respect and I have no doubt they would do so for anyone else.

Adam and Yvette looked after our cat and our large property for 4 months and I can happily recommend them to others. We returned home to a very happy cat, a spotless home, and a very well maintained large garden. They even had to endure days without power after a very bad storm and managed the cleanup afterwards amazingly. We were given regular updates and photos of our cat being spoilt with many games and comforts and we’re not sure if we can keep up the attention he received! Adam and Yvette were able to manage all aspects of our property , including mowing the grass, using our wood fire and looking after my cacti and indoor plants. Everything was perfect when we got home. Even milk in the fridge! Thank you Adam and Yvette.

Adam and Yvette's communication was excellent. They send thoughtful and detailed messages regularly updating us on the wellbeing of our cats. They invented fun games to keep them entertained and showed genuine care for our fur babies. They watered the grass daily - the garden was in good condition after many hot days, and the house was clean and inviting when we returned. Adam and Yvette Larsson have looked after our home and our two cats, Jasper and Mink, twice this year (2019). Once for a week, in April and once for nearly a month in May /June They are very easy to deal with and cope with the unexpected, taking changes in their stride.
They showed an attention to detail and respected our house owner wishes and requests. They also fed the native birds, watered plants and kept an eye on the garden.
On our return our home and pets were in very good condition. The house was left meticulously clean and the cats very healthy and happy. And there was milk in the fridge!
