More information about this house sitter

Rural property sitter in areas - 2533, 2535, 2576, 2577, 2579.

Hi, thanks for your interest and for reading my profile.
I’ve been doing house and pet sitting in rural areas for quite a while now with regular clients in Kangaroo Valley and Berry NSW who’ve kept my calendar quite full.
But recently my all time favourite no.1 dog that I was quite attached to and cared for regularly, passed away from old age, so I’ve decided to do a bit of travelling now that she’s gone, instead of staying locally.

I’m a “live quietly” kind of person, so prefer country areas or somewhere away from major cities.
I’ve lived and worked for many years in rural areas so prefer peaceful areas to stay in.
I’m a non-smoker and rare drinker and it’s extremely rare for me to go out of a night so I’m a bit of a home body, which fits in well looking after people’s pets.
Being self employed I work from home, so internet reception is important to me.

Most households have either dogs, cats or chickens, which I absolutely love but if your animal collection is wider, I have experience with large animals of all kinds: alpacas, horses, cows, sheep and goats. I also have many years experience monitoring and birthing alpacas, so would feel confident with any other animals pregnant or due to give birth.
I’m also fine giving medication if your pet needs that regularly or to give a worming tablet while you’re away.
I have an eye for detail and pay great attention to the animals in my care.

I’ve been told by a couple of owners that their dog looks for me after I’ve gone, so I bond with pets quite easily and have had timid dogs and cats approach me straight away, which has shocked the owners.
I guess they can sense that I’m safe to be around.

I can give you regular updates of your pets with photos and video if you’d like me to, or you can relax and have a total break from home, if you’d prefer that. It’s up to you.

If it’s a farm you own, I can also drive a tractor to feed out silage, move animals to a fresh paddock, move an electric fence if strip grazing, can ride a quad bike and back a trailer with my eyes closed and I’m also safety conscious.

I’ve cared for some amazing houses and properties with my sits and take pride in keeping them looking as good as they were when I arrived, so owners can relax knowing that their home is being cared for with kindness and respect.

I have around 6 phoneable references I can provide once we’ve discussed the details about your property, the pets/animals you have and we’ve had a meet up, if you're within a couple of hours drive of me at the time.

I love looking after most animals but I wouldn’t want to look after a pet snake and feed it live food. But I don’t mind if you have a sunbaking python or a red belly or two around the property.
I’m used to living rurally and am also fine if you’re on tank water, I’d prefer it really and I haven’t run dry any tanks so far.

I never have parties, even at my own house, haha and I don’t have people coming around to the properties I sit. My regular clients will vouch for my high standard of care for pets and the cleanliness of their home when they arrive back from their break.

I do the usual things, collect mail, put bins out, clean up after animals large and small (including stables), water house plants and keep things tidy.
I can do a bit of weeding and I love looking after veggie gardens.
I can use a ride on mower, as a lot of the properties I look after are multi-million dollar properties and have large areas of lawn.

When I started looking after properties, I decided to turn it into a small business so I usually charge a daily fee but if I’ve messaged you I’ve decided to travel to look around your area so there would be no cost to you.
I’m also open to being paid for any extra work that you’d like done while I’m looking after your place, especially if you own a rural property or have a bnb you’d like prepared for the next guest.

If you’re not too far away I’d come to meet you and your animals before I’d accept your booking.
I’ve found that most owners prefer that arrangement.
I also have a police check and working with children check.

If I sound like I might be a perfect fit for your place, I’d love to hear from you.

I look forward to receiving your message,

Karen.

Thank you and all the best in your search for a sitter.
