Hello, I’m Shannon — a professional, experienced house and pet sitter and genuine animal lover based in Melbourne’s south-east.
At present, I’m awaiting the purchase of a new car, so I’m unable to accept house sits unless a vehicle is provided. If that may be possible, read on! :)

I’ve been house sitting and pet sitting for 15+ years, caring for homes and beloved animals for friends, family, referrals and private clients. Across approximately 60 house sits, I offer a calm, reliable and professional service that gives pet owners real peace of mind while they’re away.

I provide loving, attentive care that’s far more personal (and often more affordable) than kennels or boarding facilities. Your pets remain in their familiar environment, receiving consistency, affection and routine. I no longer pet-sit for free, but have done for many years. My current rates are outlined below.

EXPERIENCE & AVAILABILITY

I currently work from home several days a week in the legal sector, so strong, reliable Wi-Fi is essential. I also teach yoga one or two evenings per week and run a weekend children’s party business. While I have a full and active schedule, I always prioritise quality time, play, walks and cuddles with the animals in my care.

I’m known for being reliable, responsible, mature and tidy, and I treat every home with respect as if it were my own.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

✨ Lots of love, attention and companionship
✨ Feeding, general care and medication if required
✨ Daily dog walks (1 x 60 minutes or 2 x 30 minutes)
✨ Playtime (minimum of 1 hour per day)
✨ Home security, plant care and mail collection
✨ Light cleaning before your return
✨ Emergency animal care if ever needed (hopefully not!)

RATES

$40 per night – one dog (may go up to $50 if a high maintenance dog)

$30 per night – one cat

$20 per additional dog / $10 per additional cat

Discounts available for stays longer than 14 days

LOCATION

Victoria only (unless flights to NSW are provided).
I primarily accept sits in the south-east, bayside and Dandenong Ranges. I teach yoga in Rowville, so nearby locations are ideal, though I may consider further locations if the sit and setting are a great fit.

PET PREFERENCES

Dogs and cats primarily (with calm and friendly natures and definitely non-aggressive)

Chickens, rabbits and birds are also fine

Prefer small to medium dogs (including and especially Labradors!)

Friendly, toilet-trained cats preferred

BEDTIME

I’m comfortable with pets sleeping on the bed if that’s their usual routine, though it’s ideal if they also have their own sleeping space. (If they’re especially cute, exceptions may occur!)

REPEAT CLIENTS & MEET-AND-GREETS

Most of my work now comes from repeat clients, referrals and family friends, organised privately, though I occasionally accept sits through this platform. I’m always happy to chat to see if we’re a good fit and can arrange a meet and greet (Melbourne only).

HONESTY & COMMUNICATION — IMPORTANT

Please let me know in advance if there are:

Internal security cameras in shared living areas
(I may or may not take on the sit as I hate feeling like I'm on Big Brother!)

Other tenants or occupants on the property/people living on-site (e.g. backyard accommodation)

Planned repairs, renovations or trades attending during the sit

Known issues with electricity, heating or utilities

People popping in to check and stay in the house, without notice.

Animals with aggressive behaviour or high-needs care requirements or dogs that bark all night (sleep is important!)

Transparency helps ensure the sit is comfortable, respectful and successful for both parties. To be clear, the situations listed above are generally not a good fit for me, so I truly appreciate full disclosure before I agree to a sit. This helps ensure expectations are aligned and that arrangement works well for everyone involved. Thank you!!
