Hi, I'm Dane, a 41-year-old student looking for house sitting opportunities in the Hobart region.

Friendly, reliable and committed to providing thoughtful care for homes and pets, I grew up in a rural setting and am experienced with animals of all kinds. Be it an urban apartment or a hobby farm, if you're within 30 minutes drive of Hobart, I'm interested.

A non-smoker, non-drinker and keen gardener, I currently study full-time (mostly online) at University of Tasmania. I spend much of my time at home hitting the books, so a comfortable place to study is important. I'm involved in a number of societies, fellowships and volunteering activities, so will venture into Hobart 4 to 5 times a week, but will be at home every night to care for your pets and your home.

In 2019 I completed a two-week house sit on the NSW North Coast, caring for a boisterous 1-year-old staffy cross, two cats, a large aquarium, and an expansive garden. More recently, in September 2024, I completed an 11-night house sit in Hobart, where I looked after another lovable staffy, and two cats. I have glowing references for both house sits available upon request, and can also provide character references from my volunteer work within the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme, the Still Gardening Program and the Adult Literacy Service. Due to this work, I have a recent Police Check and current Working With Vulnerable People card.

My approach to house-sitting is simple: I treat your home as I would my own, with the utmost care and attention. Whether it’s maintaining the garden, feeding and entertaining your pets, or simply keeping everything clean and secure, I take pride in providing peace of mind while you're away.
