Hello, we are Bee and JD :-) We can imagine how anxious you might feel about leaving your belongings, home, garden and treasured pet (if applicable) in the care of virtual strangers. Also the constant worry you may endure hoping you find someone suitable in time and praying they'll be the right choice. We can appreciate the stress you might be going through and we're sorry. Rest assured, you won't find better people who understand animals and keep your property tidy, secure and maintained.

A BIT ABOUT US
We have been full time house pet sitters since May 2025.
I'm Bee, a writer and cat lover, born in Melbourne, Victoria.
My husband JD, is a software developer and a dog lover and grew up on a farm in the Wheatbelt in Western Australia.
We never hold parties, play loud music or have guests dropping by. We're quiet, private people and keep to ourselves. You can read more about us toward the bottom.

CONTACT AND VISITS
-We will visit you well before the sit starts and have a WhatsApp video call with you in the meantime, at least a phone call, so we can 'meet' and get to know each other a bit beforehand.
-If you have pets, we're happy to send you regular photos and short videos of them while you're away so you know they're okay.
-We kindly ask that you respect us, our time and travel expenses. Please don't arrange for us to visit you when you're planning to choose someone else for your sit.

WE WILL REMAIN AT YOUR PROPERTY
We are not tourists. We both work for ourselves, part time, from our laptops, which means we don't have to go anywhere. We'll be home almost all day and every night. If you have pets, they'll get loads of attention.

PET EXPERIENCE
If yours is a pet-sit, between us (up until 2015), we have had our own cats, dogs, chickens, goats, guinea pigs and horses, as well as our experience taking care of dozens of cats, dogs and other animals, farm and domestic since house pet sitting from May 2025.

GARDEN EXPERIENCE
JD is an avid gardener and veggie grower - see pics in our profile of flowering potato crop, tomato harvest and JD building another possum proof veggie cage. He also enjoys weeding. I seem to have success with indoor plants.

WE ARE HEALTHY AND ENVIRONMENTAL
-We lived fully off-grid for a year so we understand the need to conserve water and power.
-We are non-drinkers, non-smokers, vegetarian, recyclers, composters, we walk daily or do yoga.
-We use chemical free, perfume free, environmentally friendly, biodegradable, grey water and septic tank safe bathroom, laundry and cleaning products (including vinegar and bi- carb soda).

WE DON'T HAVE THESE
Children, pets, caravan, motorhome.

WE WILL PROVIDE
We will bring our own food and beverages, most bedding, hairdryer, towels, toiletries, loo paper and some kitchen items including tea towels.

REFERENCES
We are on another house sit pet minding website as well and I can send you these reviews as well which are all 5 star.

SECURITY & PRIVACY
-If you don't own your home, i.e. if you're renting, we may not be able to sit for you. It might be possible, but it depends on your circumstances.
-For security and privacy reasons, yours and ours, we'd prefer if no family, friends, neighbours, real estate agents, or tradesmen came to or entered the house or property while you’re away. If you can please notify the necessary people. Sorry to ask, just that previous sit owners have created problems for us regarding this matter.

USE OF YOUR CAR
-We are do not assume and are not expecting you to lend us your car. In case you do, we're happy to oblige.
-Owners have lent us their cars on our sits at Ulverstone, Dilston and Bracknell, TAS, just to give you reassurance that your vehicle is safe with us. We'll leave it washed, vacuumed, clean and tidy inside.
-Those owners had the relevant car insurance.
-An auto would be handy for me. My husband can drive autos as well as manuals.

SPECIAL SKILLS
-JD is an excellent handyman and can fix, at least decipher, almost any problem, as well as operate almost any vehicle and mechanical contraption.
-We would appreciate it if you don't take this for granted or continue to ask us to fix parts of your house and property when you would otherwise need to pay for a tradesman to do the same job.
-I'm the cleaner and will leave your house spotless!

MORE ABOUT US & OUR TRAVELS
-We don't have children together, but JD has two adult boys, one living in Melbourne with his family and the other in Ottawa, Canada with his wife.
-JD and I have been together since 2013. We have lived mostly in the pretty, leafy north eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria.
-JD and I have been to Hawaii, Hong Kong, UK, Ireland, Singapore and parts of Europe. We have both lived and frequently travelled through most Australian states.

2022 - Donated almost everything we owned to charity, left Melbourne and travelled for most of the year in Europe.  
2023/ 2024 - Lived in Latrobe, Tasmania.
2024/ 2025 - Lived in Mole Creek (central highlands), Tas, on a 200 acre forest property which was fully off-grid.
