Hi, I'm Sophia, my husband is Ben, and we have a Master Darcy and Miss Jacinta,

Thank you, for taking the time to look at our profile.

Alice Springs was our home and community for over 20 years. Come 2020 we sold up everything. The plan was, to live an adventurous life on the road, connected as a family, experiencing how other people live and living our lives to the fullest, investing our money into experiences instead of stuff. While keeping an eye out for a new place to eventually lay our hats.

We have been living this incredible life on the road now for more than 3 years and had so many wonderful experiences. It has opened my mind to different ways of living and how fortunate we are.

The first house sit we did, many years ago, was in Darwin during cyclone Helen. Once we knew she was coming, we got to work securing large loose garden objects and valuables within the house. We spent the night huddled in a squashy dank bunker with two big, very worried dogs, our battery radio, and can supplies. When we emerged the next morning, the house was intact, but the garden was a jungle of debris. Which we were able to tidy up before Dallas and Lorna’s return. I have attached a reference from Dallas who remains a good friend to this day.

Across the 11 house & pet sits that we have done we have cared for cattle, horses, sheep, ducks, chooks, dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea fowl, and more. We consider ourselves very experienced and reliable carers of other people's property. Having been homeowners ourselves for 20 years and the many house sits we have done over the last 3 years. We treat other people's places with respect.

We understand it can be stressful for animals when their owners go away. I wished I could tell my dog when we went away that, we’d be back soon. But it makes all the difference when they get to stay in their own home and have someone to lovingly care for them while you are away.

We consider it an honour when someone asks us to care for their pets and home. As fit and practical people we are happy to keep your house and garden in tip-top shape while you are away. Ben always fixed everything in our house, with Darcy as his helpful sidekick.

In addition, we are non-smokers, have a High level of respect for other's privacy, and value other's property and belongings. We are also interested in farm-type stays and would love the opportunity to learn new tricks.
