Hi, We are a retired, professional, active, couple from the UK. Having spent time house sitting in New Zealand , really enjoying it and getting excellent feedback we have now completed around 45 sits in the UK and abroad.
On our last visit to Australia we house sat in Maitland in 2023 and are returning to Australia in September through to mid November 2024 and are interested in any house sits in an area extending from Melbourne through to Sydney including the coast and Australia Capital Territory.

Although we are signed up to 2 other house sitting sites we felt Mindahome was used more extensively in Australia. As well as the feedback here we have also attached a document with another 6 comments from owners.

We are very reliable, friendly, responsible, honest and tidy non-smokers. Dee and I were both Headteachers before we retired, so were subject to regular police checks. We also recently have both had police checks as NHS Volunteer Responders. We are also very practical people and able to deal with all sorts of household problems that might occur. After Paul retired as a Headteacher he worked as a caretaker in the local school for 4 years, to keep busy before Dee retired, so security and 'taking care' doing maintenance and cleaning were top priorities. In the UK we have a lovely garden with flowers, vegetables and lawns so would be happy to help out if that were needed. We will look after your house and pets as if they were our own and recognise that all pets are individuals with their own personalities and needs.

Because of our experience of house sitting we can assure you that your house and pets will be in excellent hands, allowing you to go away without any worries. We are very excited at the prospect of looking after your property and pets.

Paul and Dee are a delightful couple, Monty our spaniel took to them immediately. Paul updated us regularly by email and emailed a fabulous photo of Monty having fun on a walk. They left the house spotlessly clean and even laundered their sheets and towels, Paul cut the lawn too ready for our return. I would have no hesitation in recommending Paul and Dee as brilliant Housesitters and dog sitters, I hope they will comeback again to take care of Monty, he was a very happy dog with them. Paul and Dee were absolutely fantastic house and dog sitters. From the first communication, everything went smoothly. They obligingly came for a preliminary meeting, and asked all the kinds of questions that a cautious house-owner would want to hear. The dogs took to them immediately, and I felt very comfortable leaving the house and the dogs in their care. Right up until the date they started we stayed in touch, and were able to clarify any last minute details. Additionally, while I was away, there were a few household matters that needed dealing with, and Paul was quick to contact me and make suggestions - definitely going beyond the call of duty! He also kept me informed about the dogs' welfare, with photos! When I returned, Paul and Dee had already had to leave (we had agreed this), and I came back to an immaculate house and 2 very happy dogs, who barely acknowledged my return - an obvious sign that they'd had a super time too! Paul and Dee have followed up their stay with a lovely card, and I can only say how pleased I was with them. I had a good feeling as soon as I saw Paul & Dee's profile & we listened to our gut feeling which proved absolutely right. We were in regular contact with them before our holiday which made us feel we knew them before they arrived. As soon as they walked through the door, we knew we had made the right decision. Paul & Dee house/dog sat for us for 12 nights in February 2017. We have got a 15 yr old Labrador (Keisha) who is on medication & special diet, but that was no problem to them & we came home to Dee giving Keisha a massage to help her arthritis. While we were away, we were sent regular emails which meant we didn't have anything to worry about.Paul kept the lawns mowed & gardens weeded & watered. The house was left immaculate. They were the best house sitters we have had & we've had some really good ones! Absolutely trustworthy & very respectful of our home. I wouldn't hesitate recommending them to anyone. Absolute pleasure to have met Paul & Dee easy to get along with and we felt comfortable leaving them in charge of our household. We came back to find an immaculately clean home, all the bedding washed and dried, we were bowled over with their amazing efforts right down to googling why one of our fish died - he was old.
