Hi there! We are a friendly easygoing married couple of 15 years, who are reliable, trustworthy and consummate house sitters. We have lots of experience with animals, and in diligently caring for other peoples beloved pets. Darrell, born and educated in Sydney, Australia, is a seasoned house sitter, primarily in British Columbia, Canada, and parts of the USA for over 25 years.

Together, for the last decade we have been caring for countless street animals in Asia, and have 6 amazing rescue cats and a rescue dog of our own. They are being cared for by family while we travel but we miss them enormously, and look forward to seeing them again soon. They are going to join us to live back in Australia.

We have had pets all our lives and feel privileged when we are entrusted with the care of a family home and furry members of the family. We are meticulous in the cleanliness and tidiness of both our own home, and of the homes with which we are entrusted. It is a big step to give to strangers all that is precious, for any period of time. We welcome home owners family members to visit any time and hopefully stay for a meal or an afternoon tea. We love meeting people and are often humbled by the friendliness of neighbours, who we love to meet, which adds to the entire experience for us.

Darrell's background is in management and holds several directorships. He also is currently an inactive officer in the Royal Australian Navy Reserves, in the Navy Intelligence division, which he joined in 1988.

We have had veterinary experience administering medication including tablets, drops, creams and injections when necessary. We are patient with pets that may be shy or anxious and always find a way to gain their trust.

We are prolific walkers and love exploring new areas and meeting new people. It is a great way to learn about an area and meet even more people. We walk in all sorts of weather and even love the snow!! We specially enjoy hiking and bushwalking and visiting close townships and going for drives. So walking dogs or exercising any animal simply makes it more enjoyable.

Currently we are busy with work and Darrell is spending time writing and teaching online from home, so we are taking some time right now to "Veg out" and do lots of writing in the company of some furry buddies while house sitting. We also enjoy gardening and welcome the opportunity to tidy, prune or plant new seedlings and have been known to start vegetable and herb gardens.(We love seeing people grow their own tomatoes . . . they are better than any you can buy.)

As for us, we only have one stipulation, and that is that we will NOT house sit in a house that is normally occupied by smokers. We are passionately anti-smoking!

We can assure you that your home and your furry family are treated like our own.

Recent references can be provided, as most of our house sits are recommendations to friends and family.

Darrell & Monyreth were fantastic house and cat sitters, more than we could have expected and hoped for. The house was tidier and neater than ever on our return and the garden was lush and thriving.
The cats were very spoilt and I know they enjoyed the love and attention they received in their care.

These two take their roles very seriously and are very kind and considerate people who were flexible with working around timings etc. The fridge was restocked with essentials which was very helpful after a long journey and communication was easy and swift the whole time.

We were so thankful that Darrell and Monyreth were available to look after our home and our darling cat Baby. We felt comfortable with them from the first time we met them. Baby instantly took to them and whilst we were away they stayed in touch with us sending regular photos and messages so that we could enjoy our holiday knowing that Baby and our house were being well cared for. In fact they spoilt Baby with treats, a new food bowl and a comfortable new bed. We were welcomed home to a spotlessly clean house filled with vases of flowers. The garden had been well cared for with the lawns mown and the plants watered. Darrell even picked us up from the airport, bought groceries and Monyreth cooked us a delicious dinner. We plan to keep in touch with them and recommend them as housesitters.

Our two cats were totally at ease with them, the house was spotless on our return and the lawns had been mowed which was a blessing. Now we understand even further the benefits of having intelligent and caring house and pet sitters while we are away. We also now realize the benefits of getting a couple instead of a single person to house sit! Darrell and Monyreth sure came through for us yet again, when we became stranded in Auckland with the recent massive storm that eventuated there. The water at the airport was up to our ankles! We could not get home for 4 days later than we had planned. Darrell and Monyreth juggled arrangements to again give us peace of mind that our 2 pets and our house were in great hands. The house was immaculate, communication was regular and our pets had lots of treats and an upgrade in cuisine I'm sure. These sitters adore animals and have special rapport with animals. Darrell & Monyreth we met for the first time was a fantastic experience, being first time using house sitters, as we never previously considered house sitters. Our dog Oscar is very particular and not easy with strangers. Both sitters showed experience and expertise beyond our expectations. My wife and I were concerned Oscar was not going to like Darrell and Monyreth, but they were like a true dog whisperers. Oscar fell in love them both. With the videos and photos sent whilst we were away was the best reward seeing how happy Oscar was. It allowed us to relax and enjoy our holiday all the more. The house and gardens were the big surprise when we arrive back home. We never expected it to be so clean and spotless. I can't recommend enough Monyreth and Darrell. We will never go back to Boarding Kennels again.

Darrell and Monyreth

Darrell and Monyreth are the consummate house sitters. They responded immediately to an urgent need and reduced our anxiety by helping at the last minute. They obviously have lots of experience around animals, and bonded immediately with our cat and dog. Monyreth also loves the garden, and we almost wish we were away longer so she could do more. The house was immaculate upon our return. They had food cooked and ready for us when we returned, and had the essentials in the fridge so we did not go without anything upon our return. We look forward to having them return for 2 weeks in January when we go to New Zealand. Can't recommend Monyreth and Darrell highly enough.
