More information about this house sitter

Hi Home Owners, I'm Crystal (a new friend you haven't met yet) who enjoys oil painting (and visiting new locations to check out gorgeous scenery). I am mature aged, trustworthy and reliable, have an excellent rental tenancy history and I like to help out in the communities in which I stay.

I have a great love of cats and will usually accept assignments that have furry angels in residence (who require lots of cuddles, lap time and who love to sleep on the bed with the pet sitter).

Many of my own cats lived to around 18 years of age, so I don't mind looking after the seniors. I volunteered with Animal Aid (cat and kitten adoption areas) and volunteered over 100 hours at a privately owned pet boarding facility where I looked after 36 cats over the busy 2017 Christmas period - what a joy!

During my house sitting assignments I also minded domestic dogs (and a dingo) and undertook the care of a lovely bearded dragon lizard. I enjoy seeing wildlife (in their free state and natural environment) so house sitting assignments in rural locations will be considered too. Coonara heaters, rain water tanks, scenic views, the peace and quiet of a country lifestyle.... all of this is what I love.

During my time working as a House Keeping Attendant at 5-star resorts I learnt to keep the guest suites to the highest standards. I completed my first year of a Diploma of Horticulture (some time ago) so you will find that your house plants and veggie gardens will be well looked after whilst you are on holidays. (If you have lots of flowers in the garden then you will probably end up with a few small oil paintings of your flowers as gifts) and maybe some pet portraits (if poochy or kitty allows me to get a great photo).

Retirement age (for me) is still 9 years away. As a job seeker, I am required to be actively looking for work in any area where I might be house sitting for a long duration. I try to limit my working week to 2 days (4 at the maximum) so that the rest of the time I am with your pets/caring for your property (and creating artwork).

I am happy to have a chat (via phone or video call) about this. Previous home owners have been fine with a routine of me giving their pets breakfast, me going off to work and then returning in the evening to spend quality time with the animals. I send lots of photos or videos of our pet activities (usually via What's App) so that the home owner knows that they are receiving the enrichment they deserve. What's App is able to be received in Antarctica, Peru and the Amazon Jungle (I know this because these areas are where one of my home owners went for a holiday - so lucky!)

I am a very organised person who can handle responsibility well. You will soon see this (if you book me) as I have a multi-page check list for House Sitting Assignments. Many home owners are wowed by how thorough I am when it comes to looking after their most precious assets - their homes and pets.

For home owners in the local region, I am happy to visit well ahead of the assignment time, so that we can meet (and your pets can check out my "vibrational" resume). I get comments like "Wow, my cat usually doesn't come up to strangers when they first come into the house but he/she really seems to like you!"

I started Pet and House Sitting in Victoria and had multiple requests for repeat bookings (home owners gave referrals to their family, neighbours and friends and my booking list grew rapidly). My heart was set on exploring NSW though, so I moved north. That was when "the big world-wide shut down" occurred.

I found a place to rent in the Shoalhaven Region and have had over 3 years of wonderful tenancy (with my landlady's cat Tilley choosing to live full-time with me. Due to my landlady's sister needing to live in this unit I will begin house and pet sitting again and Tilley will return to her first "mom").

Please know that I have chosen to remain unvaccinated and, if this is a deal breaker for you, then please consider choosing a different person for your assignment.

It is my sincere hope that some of my skill-set is what you are looking for in a pet/house sitter and that we get to chat soon.

Blessings in your day,
Crystal
