ABOUT ME
I am 57 years old, and I’ve been house-sitting on-and-off since 2008. So I have about 18 years of previous house-sitting experience, with several years of that as a full-time house-sitter. I am a reliable, responsible, and clean. I get great satisfaction out of caring for peoples beloved pets and home, so they can relax and enjoy their time away, and my policy is to take care of people's homes as if they were my own.

I have collected a lot of house-sitting references and positive reviews over the years (see below), and my National Police Check certificate ID is: 10051904.

I never commit any of the cardinal sins of house sitting, such as look around for something better, or change my mind the day before you embark on the holiday you've spent months planning! When I commit, I REALLY commit, in writing, and stay for the entire agreed period.

Most importantly, I love dogs and cats – especially lap dogs and spoilt cats! I'll give your pet all the special care and attention they need (especially during thunderstorms). I'll maintain your pet's normal routine, and I work from home, so I can spend plenty of time with them — hopefully so they don’t even notice you’re gone. I also love walking and exercising so daily dog-walks are part of my normal routine.

NOTE: All the dogs and cats in the photos are actual pets I have house-sat. And the Jack Russell in the bean-bag was our dog “Obie” (sadly, no longer with us).

I WILL GLADLY TAKE CARE OF THE FOLLOWING:
- Feeding, grooming, walking, and caring for your beloved pets
- Maintaining house security and a human presence in your home
- All common house cleaning duties
- Normal garden and lawn maintenance
- Collect the mail, check you car battery, etc

PEACE OF MIND.
I work from home (online business), so I’m always there, keeping your pets happy, and a maintaining a secure presence in your home. I'm actually pretty boring, which is kinda what you want in a house-sitter. I keep to myself. I rarely go out. I don't have people round. I don't drink. I don't party. I don't play loud music, or make any noise. It comes with being 56 years old, I suppose.

I am happy to meet me face-to-face before the house-sit is agreed upon, so you get to see me interact with your pets, see who I am as a person, and ask me any questions. Once both parties are happy, I give you my commitment in writing. I am also happy to re-visit your home before you leave, so you can personally show me your pets feeding and comfort routines, and brief me on any other house-sitting duties.

And if this is your first time house-sitting, you are more than welcome to contact me while you're away, or get me to send photos of your pets, or send the neighbours around to check on me, etc. I don't mind at all. Anything to reduce your worries.

REFERENCES & AGREEMENTS
I can provide both written and verbal references of previous house-sitting experience (I have collected many references over the years), and I will gladly engage in any written agreements between both parties to ensure everyone is happy. I also give you my house-sitting commitment in writing.

“Wow wow wow! We feel privileged Matt agreed to house sit for us whilst we went overseas. We cannot thank Matt enough for looking after our home and 3 greyhounds. Matt was very accommodating despite our high maintenance situation which included administering regular medications and four separate walks a day with the dogs due to health issues, He kept to their routine as much as possible and even cooked for them at times! There was the possibility that our elderly greyhound may require euthanasia for a pre-existing illness whilst we were away. Matt took this in his stride and was somehow still not perturbed to house sit for us. Thankfully it did not come to this, and we came home to 3 very happy dogs. WHY AM I HOUSE-SITTING?
I just really enjoy house-sitting. I love spending time with people’s pets — as I don’t have any of my own, and I miss them. I love helping people — especially helping them relax so they can enjoy their time away. I like living on my own — I get a lot of work done (online business). I live a minimalist lifestyle — that fits and supports the idea of house-sitting. I get to live in different place — see different suburbs, meet new people, experience different homes.

And after house-sitting on the East Coast for many years, I recently moved back to Perth indefinitely, to spend more time with family, especially my elderly parents. So I am now only house-sitting in Perth, mostly the Northern suburbs where my family lives, but happy to consider house-sits anywhere in WA. If your house-sitter has cancelled on you at the last moment, I can sometimes travel to any location in Australia to help you out.

That will probably be in WA for the moment, as I moved here permanently to spend more time with family. But contact me anyway, and I’ll see if I can help you - especially if it’s a short house-sit (1-4 weeks). But please see my dates below, to see if I am available.
