I love animals & have years of experience looking after dogs and cats. I am a land owner, gardener, traveller, and bird watcher and have done numerous sits already.

I own my home in Qld with my Kiwi wife of 28 years on Mt Tamborine and also own 9 acres of land in Canungra where we have been working on amazing community projects for the last 7 years with some friends. I have been travelling the world since the age of 22 years and have visited almost 100 countries and still work within my business online part-time.

Now, I am starting a new stage of life with my wife's blessing to travel and explore our beautiful country at a new level so I can experience its towns, villages, nature, and countryside and be more like a local and not just passing through.

Having been born in the Hunter Valley and growing up on the South Coast of NSW with grandparents who were orchardists and lived on the land, I have had long-term experience in gardening. Whether that is setting up garden beds for beauty or food production, it's something I enjoy. Recently, I have planted on our land over 800 natives, and established a food forest full of fruit and bush Tucker plus a substantial syntropic perennial vegetable garden.

My true passion is birdwatching and travelling to Australia and overseas to see and experience new species of birds and animals is a key aspiration. I grew up as a pet owner and always had dogs, mainly Boxers and cats, but in more recent times have purely had bees, chickens and a few roosters due to the amount of travel I had been doing for work plus we love eggs, honey and fresh produce. We also mind animals for friends dogs and rescue animals as shared dog parents.

I am fit and healthy and have a conscious diet that includes eating healthy food and staying active. Though I don't want to be doing roles that require extensive grounds work, I have good experience with land and garden maintenance, pruning, growing plants, whipper-snipping, and weeding.

I love nature and exploring, I own a 4-wheel drive and camper trailer and enjoy going to more remote locations. I have no fear of spiders or snakes but have a healthy respect for them.

I don't smoke, do drugs, and occasionally enjoy a good glass of red wine, but I am not a big drinker.

As I still work part-time in my business, mainly online, I do require good internet and am considering getting Starlink. I love the idea of community and meeting and connecting with new people with shared values. Travelling to me is the ultimate freedom, and I have worked hard all my life to have this time where I can have a greater level of flexibility and autonomy. I also like the idea of supporting the generation above me so they can stay self-sufficient and remain living on their property longer.

I would love you to consider me for your homestay. Though this is a new area for me having always owned property myself I treat other people's homes with respect and care for them just like it is my own. Read more...
