Hi there!

Tyler is a nurse and I am a software architect, so our work could go anywhere with us. After the pandemic, we didn't have anything really tying us to the United States. So we packed ourselves and what few belongings we couldn't sell and decided to move to Australia! We came over to help with the healthcare worker shortage.

We recently learned about Mind a Home and thought it would be a perfect way to get our animal fix in, see other places and experience other cultures.

I (Jennie) fell in love with animals at an early age and always wanted to help neighbourhood strays. Slowly, our house grew as I found more cats that needed help, ultimately ending up with a family of 3 + 5 cats. The love didn't stop there and I ended up volunteering at the local animal shelter in high school (logging over 400 hours) and then proceeding to work in a pet store in college. I was then able to work with dogs, cats, amphibians, fish and even sugar gliders!

Tyler grew up in a home with 2 cats as well. He has a lot house/pet sitting experience - he's sat for cats and dogs in various locations in the United States. He had a 5 star rating from the attention and care he gave, as well as from the detailed updates he provided. Previous hosts really enjoyed the photos he'd send of their pets while they were gone, and we'd be more than happy to do that for you, too.

We had a tiny urban Farm in Washington where we grew much of our own produce so we're very comfortable caring for gardens. My sister raises hens so we have experience with that as well.

Our hope is to travel, meet some lovely people and care for some lovely pets. If we sound like a good fit for your furry, fluffy and or feathery family please don't hesitate to reach out.
