Hi my name is Maree and my husband is Guy and we have a daughter Isabella (13yr).

We joined mindahome in December 2013, as we needed a house/pet sitter for a period of 63 days while we travelled around America.

Since our return from holidays we to have decided that we would like to giving House/Pet Sitting a go for ourselves.

So in years to come once our children have flown the nest we can do a lot more and this also gives the children an insight into housesitting so when they want to live independently they can go alone with the experiences that they have gained through doing it with us.

So we are now on the other side looking for houses/pets to care for. We are home owners ourselves, so we truly understand what is needed from a house sitter.

We are experienced house/pet sitters, we have looked after a variety of animals from Reptiles, Rats, Basenji Breed Dogs (Show Dogs), Fish, Eclectus Parrot, Cats and lots of different breeds of Dogs some with Special Conditions, we are very happy to look after all kinds of pets.

About Us:

We are a working professional couple with two children, we are respectful and will genuinely look after your property and animals. We are non-smokers, quiet, house-proud and security conscious.

We are interested in housesitting locally to start with; short term and over school holidays would suit at the moment. Depending on dates, sometimes we work as a tag team and we don't always have our daughter.

Under some circumstances we have had the pet come and stay with my us and our animals, if the situation suits both us, the home owner and of course the animals. So this can always be an option, can discuss further.

Happy to provide as much information as you required as we know how difficulty it is to put trust into complete strangers, as we have “been there done that”.

We are both Correctional Officers, I have been employed with the same company coming into my 24th year and Guy is coming into his 12th year with the same company. So we are very loyal people.

We have obtained a National Police Check solely for housesitting.

Personal Reference are also been obtained if required.
We are both Commissioner of Declarations and Guy has been a Member & Group Leader with SES for over 30 years.

As of Monday 1st January, 2017 - we will be applying a small sliding scale fee for Our House/Pet Sitting Services.
Prices will range from
$25p/night for 1x pet
$30p/night for 2/3x pets
$35p/night for 4x pets
$40p/night for 5/6 pets
$45p/night for 7+ pets

It's still a small price to pay, for the security of your home and for the care of your pets while you are on holidays.

“Maree and her husband Guy, young daughter Isabella, and Isaak looked after my animals and house for 5 days in October 2015. I had never used a pet sitting website before so I was very cautious about using this type of approach. My house/pet sitting assignment was not a simple one, as it required commitment and a sitter who has experience with looking after different types of animals and, who also knew how to look after a large house. I have a multiple pet household with: 1 x Eclectus parrot, 3 x Basenji dogs, 2 x cats, and 3 x pet rats. The parrot requires feeding daily with fruits, vegetables and grain; the rats require similar food as the parrot; and one dog needed to be kept separated from the other 2 dogs. In addition to this my dogs are a primitive, rare breed and are show dogs, so they need to be managed differently to normal dogs. At first I thought Maree’s profile would not be suitable because she did house/pet sitting as a family unit, ie husband and their 2 children who are young adults. I had difficulty trying to imagine a family living in my house and working with all my animals and in particular with my show dogs. However I am glad that we had further conversation on email, as I discovered more about the families’ experience and motivation for house and pet sitting. We eventually decided to meet and very quickly I could see that the whole family enjoys house and pet sitting and, they also provided very good references and a police check. It was also comforting to know that they had at one time used pet sitters when they went on a long holiday and they were so impressed with their experience that they decided to do it as well. I came to realise very quickly that they had solid experience with managing more complicated scenarios with dogs and looking after different types of animals. Maree arrived a day early to when I was leaving. I provided 4 detailed checklists, which she had clearly read prior to coming to the house. It was important that the checklists were followed as there was too much information to remember when one doesn’t live in my house on a daily basis. I found Maree’s family very easy to communicate and work with and, Isabella their daughter is a very responsible girl and clearly enjoyed spending time with my animals. They are a lovely family and a pleasure to know. On my return my animals were happy and clearly enjoyed their interaction with Maree and her family, and the house was tidier than when I had left it. They also have a Facebook page where they posted pictures of their interactions and progress with my house and animals, which gave me a lot of confidence that everything at home was okay. “I recent left my home and beloved four legged girls, ("Sheba" and "Coco" my dogs), and two legged lady, ("Ruby" the chicken), in the trust and care of Maree and Isabella. They cared for pets in a way that resonates with me; they allowed me the freedom to be away from home without concern. I returned to happy dancing tails and content animals who were clearly stress free in my absence. Guy and Maree both should be very proud of their children Isaak and Isabella, they are respectful and good natured in an initial visit to my home. Isabella stayed in my home and engaged with the dogs happily under Maree's guidance whilst maintaining my home in an exemplary manner. Guy and Maree's notion of introducing their children into the world of house sitting under their supervision with a view of them testing and developing their own independence in the future is admirable. It is a great way to enjoy and engage other people, see other life styles and travel.
