We are a middle aged, highly responsible, non smoking couple who love animals, the garden and the outdoors.

We would be an ideal choice for housesitting because, first and foremost, we are home owners ourselves and have a great respect for other people's property, especially when entrusted to it as caretakers. We are Zimbabwean born and two of our children are both married with children of their own, living in Perth, Australia. The reason we are coming to Australia is so that we can be closer to our children and grandchildren and see them more often. We would prefer to housesit than stay with our children as it would add more pressure to their living circumstances.
We are also wanting to immigrate to Australia. We have applied for our visas but the application is in a long queue and still to be considered. In the meantime, we have a holiday visa which expires in 2 years time and it allows us to stay for 3 months at any one time and visit as often as we like within these 2 years. We feel that house sitting would be a good way for us to get a feel of how things work and get a feel for Perth and the suburbs. This is where we would like to settle.

I am not employed at present, but until recently, we owned and ran a Bed & Breakfast Lodge together with my late Mum who passed away sadly in August, 2020, during Covid. My husband, Horace, is a widely experienced Agronomist, and is also a practical man. We love gardening and have a swimming pool at home in Harare, so we are used to pool maintenance too. We love animals and have just recently had to say good-bye to our beloved 13 year old Mastif cross Labrador. We have also enjoyed having 2 cats, Monty and Bella, as pets, in the past, who also have passed away from old age. We are well versed in animal care.

Our main motivation to house sit is to be able to have a roof over our heads that will not cost us an arm and a leg, be closer to family and get a feel for living in Western Australia.
We have lived in our own home since 1997, and my husband and I maintain our house and the whole property. This care and attention that we bring to our own house and possessions will be extended to any house that we may have the privilege to take care of in the future.
