I am solo traveling in Australia through the end of April.
A bit about me: I'm a teacher, currently taking a gap year for some travel. Most recently I was teaching and renting in Europe, while I had tenants in my house. I know firsthand how challenging it can be to have someone else in your own space and want it taken care of as you would, and aim to provide that peace of mind for you. As a homeowner, I did all my typical home and yard cleaning, watering, etc. - and I'm happy to do the same for your home!
Most of my house and garden plants lived long lives :-). I enjoy interacting with animals and have had cats and birds as personal pets. I grew up with dogs. I have worked as a volunteer for years with wolves, exotic birds, and most recently Australian wildlife rehabilitation. I am calm and patient, often attracting friend's pets that "never come out when there is company".
I enjoy organizing and completing projects. In previous housesitting experiences, homeowners often commented that they appreciated that I followed directions carefully and completed all requests. If you have a certain routine for your animals or a watering schedule, know that I will maintain that - consistency is important!
In my free time, I enjoy hiking and getting to see nature in the countries I visit. I am an avid reader, and am enjoying getting to have more time for relaxing with a coffee and a book this year!
