More information about this house sitter

We are in our mid seventies. Both are very healthy. We do not smoke or drink (Well ... bit of social wine.)
We have owned and lived in our house in a small community for the past 50 years. Our home has always had a garden and trees to maintain and we have always had a cat (different ones) as a pet.
We have travelled quite a bit but not yet to Australia. An Australian friend of ours has recommended house sitting to us as an option to consider to get to know a place (country, area) better. She has been housesitting for the past several years on her annual returns to Australia during our winter season. She would be available for a reference for us.
In addition to teaching I have done much building maintenance type of work. That background makes me able to assess most problems that may arise. For 32 years we also owned and maintained 20 apartment units so became very familiar with the importance of choosing suitable tenants.
While we intend to stay in Australia for a few months, starting mid November to mid February we hope to move to a few different locations over that time period. An opportunity to stay in one place for about a couple of weeks fits our plans nicely.
