Hello,

I am Mariola from Germany.

I have a degree in Business Administration and have been working at a vocational school teaching accounting and trade for 23 years. At the beginning of 2024 I quit my job and have been traveling ever since (returning to Germany in between my travels).

I had three housesit jobs in Australia in March/April 2024. One was a house with a cat, one housesit with a cavoodle and one housesit with a red Irish Setter. I loved all my housesits and am still in touch with the owners. I would love to come back to Australia in December 2025 and January 2026.

I have one daughter. She is studying dentistry at a German university.

Being open minded I started to “introduce” our daughter to different cultures by hosting exchange students from all over the world for over 10 years (two of them from Australia). The exchange students didn’t work for us and we didn’t get paid hosting them. They were a part of our family and attended a local high school for 3-11 months. We are still in touch with some of them.

When I was in Australia I visited one of our former Australien exchange students. It was so lovely to see her after 9 years.

I have a small dog. She is a Bolonka Zwetna and has been part of our family for over 14 years now. Billie is very affectionate and needs plenty of cuddles. She is ok with staying alone in the house for up to 5 hours but doesn’t like to be left alone when it gets dark – that means for me taking her with me, arranging a dog sitter or staying at home. I walk my dog twice a day. I will gladly adjust to your pet’s needs.

We usually take our dog with us when we travel. While I am traveling my dog stays with my ex-husband. When we travelled overseas I was blessed to have my aunt and uncle who took care of our dog and our house.

I love to cook, meditate, read, write “real” letters, meet my friends and family, go for walks with or without my dog. I also love traveling, meeting new cultures and most of all trying local food. I enjoy feeling part of the community, moving around as a "local".

I have a positive attitude and a good sense of humor. I am caring, communicative, conscientious and reliable. I don’t smoke and I don’t drink. I am very clean, quiet and very respectful of your home and privacy and will never bring visitors into your home.

I know that leaving your house and pet with a stranger is a matter of trust and chemistry on both sides. I am happy to introduce myself in a video call. I have references from my pervious housesit on a different site. I also stayed in many AirB&Bs all over the world and I can give you a link to the reviews the house owners gave me.

I would love to have the opportunity to make sure that your home is well looked after and your pets, loved, walked, fed and cuddled.
